Zimbabwe Cricket Team at present are suspended by ICC due to goverment's interviention on cricket board's administration. Final outcome on future of Zimbabwe will be decided on 12th October, ICC Board Meeting.
Having been suspended outside forces are still dominating ZC and is represented in selection of players which is continuing for long time.
At present Zimbabwe Selection Criteria seems
1) Chief Selector Chawaguta's Friendship
2) Board Nominated Player to be selected on pressure
3)Political Party Pressure
4) Racial Quota Selection
Suspending Players on speaking truth in the media
Under 19 players who are no more under 19s are still playing age level cricket without being promoted to next level
Domestic performers overlooked

Re: Zimbabwe Weird Team Selection Policy
Correct
Players like Shumba, Madhevere, Myers, Chesa have already crossed under 19 level, they should have been domestic cricket regulars by now. These guys started their age level cricket with their counterparts like Afif Hossain, Mujeeb, Hertmyer who are now representing their national side and Zimbos are still the under 19s
Under 19s become unavailable during domestic cricket and become available when playing for under 19....another terrible view from ZC in media

Re: Zimbabwe Weird Team Selection Policy
England have just dropped Bairstow for the New Zealand Tests. He was dropped not rested. But, in just a few weeks they'll be coming down to Sout Africa. Bairstow is arguably their best bastmen against South Africa, and in South Africa.
At face value that's a weird selection, but it's not. Explanation - they want to light a fire under his backside. He responds better like that, and they hope it works.
Zimbabwe needs this kind of ruthlessness. The one player I know who responds to such is Craig Ervine. So maybe selection for SIngapore wasn't such a good idea. A Taylor would have feasted on weaker opposition to play himself back in form. A Craig well I don't think so(not that NZ are that much weaker than SA, as SIN&NEP to AFG). But let's hope he does well.
But Zimbabwe do need to be more ruthless. I don't think Raza should get back into the side that easily. His form was below par, and like Bairstow he needs to evaluate his priotities - does he want to be an allrounder or a batsmen in a side that has lost Hami and Mire? Same with Taylor. Does he want to be a batsman or keeper-bat. Hogging the gloves was a sign of insecurity.
Moor was dropped, but he's seldom had difficulty against weak opposition. It's the step up to international cricket in LOI formats(even Africa T20), where bowlers have a lot of bags of tricks that he'll battle with. Moor does not have the concentration to succeed against over after over of full wide yorker, length slower ball, standard yorker, standard bouncer, low full toss, slower ball bouncer etc, because he does not have the ability to play a lot of shots very well. He will connect one or to but almost always fall early to one of the other balls. For a batsman he has the shallowest range of shots that you can expect so will struggle with run pressure in LOIs and field placings. Burl is the opposite he has the range of shots but because he has no aggressive temperament or power, he will mostly succeed if the bowler misses his mark. So no chance in T20s agiainst skilled bowlers. But ODIs are less testing with more orthodox overs.
