Typical Zim kinda game. At least it was a warm up. Hopefully they learnt their lesson. Tugwete giving his wicket away unnecessarily especially. Dane also panicked a bit.

No shardendorf was composed. He needed to take that run. No 11 would never have survived the next few deliveries. Match was lost by every batter that swung from the cheap seats when we only needed 3 an over.
What Shardendorf should have done is not ducked that short ball prior to that, he should have picked that up over fine leg, he’s got the shot. He’s a good player, should be batting in the front 4, you can line the pinch hitters up from 5 to 10.

Nope. He’s not a patch on Bawa or Tugwete. He’s another pinch hitter, plays too square and doesn’t have the technique to bat long at this level.

I wonder why they all seemed to be aggressive from ball 1. Is it a strategy or something.

If Bawa is handled correctly and provided he has the temperament will become a star player. How many times have I said that and ZC drop the ball, but this kid is unbelievable. I’ve seen him play shots on the up and back foot cover drives that will make a connoisseur get teary eyed. He should bat at 5.

I believe it is. And in my opinion it’s going to cost us dearly. You can’t go hard every time, you have to assess and adapt. Madhevere looked ok up front as a stroke maker, but I think you’ll find he’s suspect against real pace, but he’s decent. Shumba could stay at 2 but he goes too hard at the ball, Myers or Dane at 4 or 5 depending on the situation and then Bawa at 5. That’s the correct line up for this level of cricket.

Shardendorf is a marginally better keeper than Marumani as well.
