I'm fully expecting this series to be cancelled with the ZC salary cuts. The players might wait till the day before their flight leaves to announce they are striking. Its the perfect time with performance behind them and the ODI league coming up in just 3 odd months.

Sean Bell suggested Williams won’t be touring Bangladesh, Raza hasn’t played since the Test series finished.

A strike is possible no doubt

Shouldn’t mess with player salary’s.
They can always have a veneer of respectability when you have players like Williams and BT still in the system and happy.
Papers over many cracks. They can be the most vocal too and draw attention.

Sean Bell’s mysterious post and his unwillingness to elaborate is intriguing. Williams has been made captain of red ball (which we play once every few years ) and you wouldn’t think he’d jeopardize that by withdrawing from the tour for anything other than family reasons.
Personally I wouldn’t be going anywhere with Coronavirus about to burst forth. It’s particularly lethal to people over 40, which is most of our team  .

I doubt that. ZC have nailed the divide and rule tactics.
Anyone on the Bang Bus will get looked after, or they will promise to look after them in October when our money is restored.   it’s the guys left here that will be wondering how they’ve been misled for the 47th time in a row, slow learners for sure.

And I need to keep reminding the players and staff that there’s now $4m less in what was a benevolent handout to a failed cricket union. Obviously it failed because of sanctions and drought, and floods and fire and pestilence and all manner of things you’ve been told and you need to keep believing that or you’ll be forced to deal with some uncomfortable truths. When it gets handed to you on a plate it never stings as much when it gets taken away, so you’ll be ok.
If they think we will get that back I’d have to say that’s optimistic, and even if we do ZC will have racked up so many bills in the interim that cricket will only see a minuscule portion of it.
When you get used to abusing $9m a year and suddenly there’s $4m less that goes beyond belt tightening
If you add up the players’ salaries on a monthly basis and multiply it by the 9 months to October it doesn’t come to $4m? I’d be hugely surprised if it even came to $1m.
So they’re going to have to not spend the other $3m, it begs the question what they were using it for because it’s now no longer there. If there’s no visible additional damage caused by not having that money then what was it being used for?

Williams's wife is due to give birth. May miss the test but should be around for the ODIs.

I doubt there will be a strike this time. 3/4 of the team are fighting for their place. It's really hard out there. the selectors have vowed again to pick guys based on form. Only 3 or 4 guys are automatic picks.

PJ has a chance if Williams misses the test. In fact he is the best bet and i just read Maruma and Mutombodzi are injured so there won't be any weird picks. Burl is injured too. I don't see anybody else who can do the job unless they make Chari open and mpve Prince down the order.
