2020 Under-19 World Cup | Match Thread | Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh

Post by Kriterion_BD »

I know its a bit early, but I'm pretty excited about Bangladesh's chances in this tournament. The warmups have been a bit up and down. A good batting performance against Australia led to a tie game with both sides getting 250 in 43 overs. But Bangladesh were soundly beaten by NZ just a few days ago, being bowled out for 120 odd.

Bangladesh captain Akbar Ali has his sights on the Final, but I think most BD fans would be pleased if we made the semis.

This group really is the group of death. Should be an exciting game.

I've been following the recent ZIM U-19 performances in the Quadrangular. Which of these players do ZCFers reckon have the potential to play for the ZIM national team? I would imagine Madhevere and Myers are the two brightest prospects...

Monitored Bangladesh Under 19 performance recently, it will be a huge disappointment if this team doesnt qualify for quarter finals same goes with Zimbabwe U19, some experienced age group cricketers have been included in the squad and their recent wins against RSA U19 & NZ U19 making them look dark horse.

May be some rain around for this game. No news on the toss yet and play scheduled to begin in about 25 mins. Might be a shortened 40 over a side match. With the overcast conditions surely a win toss and bowl first game.

ICC website says the toss has been delayed for all 4 games.

The vulnerability for this BD side is that the batting is dependent on 3 or 4 guys. With the bowling attack we have, we should be able to defend anything in excess of 200 (or even 175), but getting to that figure will require those 3-4 batters to dig in.

Bangladesh won the toss and will field first. Thank god, just a minor delay.

You’re excited about winning the toss, I see.
Sounds like a very good one to win.

So far 3 out of 4 teams have opted to field first (obviously). The 4th toss hasn't happened yet.

Cold and cloudy for the BD-ZIM game...it was apparently near 40 degrees for the SA-AFG game yesterday.

ZIM 26-0 from 3.3 overs

Madhevere and Bawa are striking at over 100 each.
