Worth trying to buy a wicket and lobbing up a few full tosses? See if they are willing to have a swing, you never know.

We'd hole out for sure, maybe they would too

I was about to say we may get some home town umpiring calls now that Phiri is on... but of course the rule is he can only stand at square leg. And to make matters worse, it's Menin who is umpiring from each end now :( May as well shake hands and end it now.

He is being picked as a front line top 3 pace bowler and needdd to perform as one.

His batting only comes into play when up against a similar bowler, such as Nyauchi.

His batting isn’t good enough on its own. So he’s neither here nor there.

I’d tolerate his bowling part time.
He needs to be Ben Stokes not Pat Cummins.
It really is hard to hate Don but I get you. Donalds batting was learnt late on and its not skill, just pure practice. The thing is if we are ever going to be a serious side we need to make tough decisions. Don is The kind of player you pick when you are looking to survive not win.

I honestly think we are better off forcing Mumba and Jarvis with 100s of balls daily so that they can hold their own just like Don learnt. The initial problem we have is that we don't have 7 reliable batsmen uptop. That is why we end up looking for half measures somewhere else. At best we have 4 reliable batsmen, 2 shady openers and 1 crap wk. Murray and Burl will solve 2 of those problems soon I believe but we need to find 1 other serious batsman out of these kids so that we can reserve 8-11 for actual strike bowlers.

I checked out 1 interview where BT suggest he will be around for maybe 3 years. I think he is aiming for the WC. I hope our middle order sticks around for it because I feel like we are about 70% there in terms of the guys we need to be competitive. In 2018 with Cremer Vitori and Blessing around we were so close to figuring it out. Very close.

Wesley Myers Milton Murray and Burl are the natural replacements for the senior guys. They just need to learn from them. We just need to unearth 2 fast bowlers from somewhere then we are good.

The top test sides know their top 6 batsmen will get the job done

Yeah, time to wrap it up. A draw is not a bad result.

I think this proves why we were better erring on the safe side with this target. This bowling attack was always going to have real trouble taking 20 wickets... Raza's 7-fer really papered over the cracks in the first innings. I think this 3/200 is more of an accurate indicator.

We need some better bowling options in Bangladesh... hopefully Jarvis and Chatara are fit again.

Zimbabwe really need to unearth some guys with pace

If Mumba, Mpofu & Chatara are the quickest in the land then they have big issues

I think we are somewhat fortunate we didn’t get bowled out 20 runs earlier. Sri Lankan could have got this. Even now they have given up they will still get sort of close

Yeah. The rain really hurt us yesterday... it's such a shame isn't it, had there been that same amount of rain in the 1st Test we would have drawn that. And had that rain not happened yesterday, maybe we would have got up to 400+, declared and had a crack at SL yesterday evening.

Luck never really seems to go Zim's way does it!
