Marumani is the second top scorer in the World Cup. Shame most of his runs have come against Scotland and Canada. For all we wax lyrical about Wes he is only averaging mid 20s. Perfect for the Zimbabwe national side
Re: [MATCH THREAD] U19 WC 11th Place Playoff Zimbabwe v Scotland
That’s actually sobering.
For all this talk about propelling him into the national team immediately, you’d be expecting him to be averaging 38/39 at worst given the opposition.
International cricket is a big step up. If you are only averaging 30 at under 19 you’re only going to be 20ish with the big boys AT BEST.

To compare, Shumba averaged 41 and scored 50 more runs more than Wes.ZIMDOGGY wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 9:53 amThat’s actually sobering.

For all talk of Shumba and Wes, Muramini and Bawa look to have futures in the game too. And Myers. Really good crop this.
Re: [MATCH THREAD] U19 WC 11th Place Playoff Zimbabwe v Scotland
Wes keeps getting out once he gets to 50 that’s his problem, I’d still be taking him to Bangladesh
Marumani into the 90’s he needs to be put into a franchise side for the upcoming matches

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Stats don’t tell the whole story over a short interval though.
ZC have been using stats over 3 games so maybe if they read this then Madhevere is out and Shumba is in,
or perhaps Marumani becomes the national captain?
The bottom line is that they are clueless at every level.

Big difference is that we have spots open for spin bowlers. The big question is are Shumba and Madhevere just part timers or could they perform the role of a front line spinner?Googly wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 10:13 amDesperate times call for desperate measures. I haven’t seen too much of Madhevere as a spinner, but I’ve seen Shumba a few times, he’s a clever bowler, perhaps too much variation, no two balls are the same, but he’s got good control for his age, whatever that is.
