I watched a little of his bowling in the first match against Sri Lanka in the Bangladesh Tri-series to refresh my memory. His pace seems to be very inconsistent. I've definitely seen him hit 140+ a few times in limited overs cricket, but he mostly bowled in the early to mid 130s I guess. I guess I overestimated his pace a fair bit, but he's still faster than any of the bowlers we currently have.

Here are his bowling speeds from his first over in that match (The last ball of the over was 133.2 kph):

I appreciate you took the time to go back and look.
A lot of posters would just rant their opinion instead.

Speed guns in Bangladesh are not very accurate either

Last game they Tiripano clocking over 140kph

The thing with Blessing is it’s his height & bounce more so than his pace that makes him dangerous.

Also people are getting carried away about various things whether it be how quick he is? Or how much has he progressed? Or is he really any good if he is being released?

The fact is at this point in time Victor Nyauchi, Donald Tiripano & Charlton Tshuma just lined up in a Test match for Zimbabwe, the cupboard is bare lads just be happy he is coming back.

Blessing is Nyauchi with a little bit of extra bounce.
I know most of us didn't like the way he left, but he was offered a county contract for a reason.
1. Potential
2. A very good World Cup qualifying campaign against the assocs.
3. Potential
4. Height
5. Perceived potential
6. Intent to live in Pomland
7. Potential
It was just on potential and height and his decent pace (by Pom standards).

He had a pretty average WC Qualifying tournament if I recall. Won one game bowling to the #10 and #11 of a team who plays 11 tailenders in their XI anyways (Afghanistan).

No he got 46/4 against Afghanistan and bowled really well according to reports, the match you’re talking about was against Scotland where he had a difficult match but got the No.11 out to draw the match

Blessing had a fairly good tournament considering that the pitches were pretty dead by the end of the tournament & it was just ‘spin city’ at the end (probably why Afghanistan clawed their way back)

Blessing was also the 2nd choice seamer for the series after replacing Jarvis in the XI and with Vitori being suspended. Blessing was doing pretty good in his ODI career considering all his matches had been played at either Mirpur Sharjah or a dead Harare deck.

It really was the three ODI matches against Pakistan that inflated his average

I think there was a discussion about that some time ago and I think Blessing was mediocre agianst the Associates as well. I think he had one 4 wicket haul vs Sri Lanka in the 2018 tri series that really put him on the map.

Even Tiripano bowls 79-83 mph in ODIs.
No, he doesn't...that's my point, people have this perception that our guys can reach speeds quicker than they actually bowl.
Tiripano hit 135 (83.9 mph) in the Test series just last week. Now can he average that speed? Does he bowl it consistently (ie a couple times per over)? No. But he can hit those speeds.

These are the current (2018-2020) paces of ZIM seamers following my median 50% and max speed:

Jarvis: 125-130, 135-137
Chatara: 125-130, 135-137
Mumba: 130-132, 140
Mpofu: 130-134, 140
Tiripano: 122-128, 135
Tshuma: 125-130, 135

M&M are spiteful and vindictive, let’s see what penance Blessing has in store for him. He’d better hope he has a cracking County season or he’ll be playing Uprisings B’s for two years until free will is beaten out of him.

His last shot to impress for an overseas contract. But unless he gets a 5er it's over.

On a bowlers wicket Muzarabani, first change, took 1-37 claiming the number 11 bat, and 0* out of 67 all out, Ben Curran with 35 the only one in double figures
