ODIs, by the numbers, yes. Mushy in the past 5 years has actually even been better than Kane Williamson. I remember we had this discussion before and I pointed out Mushy's numbers aren't an anomaly like many batsmen, because his averages get better against the stronger sides and then also in away games vs home games. He's a very anti-Bangladeshi batter in those regards. Now I understand, playing for Bangladesh he will be undervalued vis a vis his numbers (last 5 years average of ~50 at ~90 strike rate may not be world class, but its not poor either). Personally, I also find his compact game very aesthetically pleasing to watch. Even when he edges the ball he looks technically gifted.
Kane Williamson gets a similar treatment. He's a far better batsman than Joe Root, and he's about as good Smith (Smith is better in Tests, KW is better in ODIs).
I will say I was 100% wrong about Babar Azam. He proved it at the World Cup last year. Scored some very good runs.
