Last but fast Tamim Iqbal, to round out my XI.

1. Shai Hope (wk) avg 51.69
2. Tamim Iqbal avg 40.64
3. KL Rahul avg 47.65
4. Ross Taylor (c) avg 54.98
5. Angelo Mathews (a/r) avg 44.28/33.91
6. Ryan ten Doeschate avg 61.40

That is indeed an excellent lineup for someone who had to pick last.

Thanks for the comment.....i just arranged them in batting average maybe admin will rearrange them...the first 4 have a higher batting average than Gayle & De Kock...Gayle will also perform bowling and with his big bat can be a great finisher...
I will leave it to the experts

The plan now is everyone who hasn’t already finalized their XI needs to do so. Those who have can change their XIs.

I also need the role for each player in the XI. Be reasonable with bowlers...a guy who has only bowled a handful of overs can’t count as an all rounder. An all rounder should bowl in at least 33% of the innings in which he has played.

Deadline for Playing XI is 24 hours from this post.

I will create a new thread for the simulation. It is up to each of you double check my stats are correct.

Here's my best of the rest XI. Can certainly compete against at least of couple of these line ups:

Gautam Gambhir (bat)
Virender Sehwag (bat)
Ian Bell (bat)
Shreyas Iyer (bat)
George Bailey (C, bat)
Alex Carey (WK, bat)
Dwayne Bravo (bowl)
Chris Woakes (bowl)
Amit Mishra (bowl)
Lockie Fergusson (bowl)
Anrich Nortje (bowl)

I wanted to fit in Tim Southee, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Tom Latham, but could not. Woakes edged Southee, Carey edged Latham and the pace and promise of Nortje edged the swing of Bhuvi.

Goerge Bailey is the first Aussie skipper I liked in the post Steve Waugh era.

My playing XI

1. Usman Khawaja (bat)
2. Hashim Amla (bat)
3. Jonathan Trott (bat)
4. AB De Villiers (bat)
5. Marnus Labuschagne (bat)
6. Heinrich Klassen (bat/wk)
7. Tom Curran (allrounder)
8. Jofra Archer (bowl)
9. James Anderson (bowl)
10. Jasprit Bumrah (bowl)
11. Muttiah Muralitharan (bowl).

I almost took Latham in my final pick, but I like Klaasen because he has a higher average and he also gave me a bit more freedom in the batting line up. Klaasen can also up the ante towards the end of the innings. I know I'm somewhat batter short from 8 onwards, but my top 5 could score 300 by themselves. Archer can definitely bat, but he wouldn't need to. I also think that even if we scored low, my bowling attack is very strong with 5 wicket takers and so I think they would do well to restrict the opposition.

Players who just missed out in my side were Latham, Raza, Bravo and Haris Sohail.

It's pretty hard to say which line up I like the most. I really like Rusty's because a it has great balance and lot of my favorites are there in that. Tamim, Rahul, Mathews, Taylor and Morkel. Also like zimbos's XI, although yeah, the lower order is a little questionable with the bat. Will wait to see other lineups put up to see if there was a hypothetical voting involved, who I would go for.
