There is one slight oversight in the calculations of brmtaylor.com's team where Wes is listed as an allrounder, although he went for Kallis as fifth bowler:
brmtaylor.com wrote:Kallis will be my fifth bowler
This should improve his score a bit.

I think the methodology must be off, how am I not in first place with the likes of Guptill, Babar, Williamson, Morgan, and Hussey?

I guess making BMac my captain was a poor choice statistically

I guess this proves my point that I usually argue with my favourite sparring partner Kriterion; that there’s more to the game than just stats
Jaybro - depends on the stat and how its used. For example, what I did was just multiply the captain's final rating by 1.25. But I could have 2 other things which would have yielded a more meaningful stat. I could have used the captain's win/loss ratio as the coefficient. Or I could use the W/L to multiply the entire team's final rating. But to me that seemed a bit extreme.

You're, right. Your team is a lot stronger than your rank suggests. I will have to tweak my formulas.

I think the bowling formulars are okayish, but you'd need to weigh the batting according to positions: right now the results for no.1 and no. 11 carry even weight which is unrealistic. How often does a no. 11 even bat in ODIs?

But no manner of tweaking will shift grant from prime position :P

Yeah. I may have to weight the tailenders relative to a top orders.

Yeah. I may have to weight the tailenders relative to a top orders.
Actually, that won't do eugene's team any favors because the ratings are normalized values. Its a ratio and because all players are being compared to the same standard (median averages and strike rates/econ) it won't affect the ordinal rank of the 9 teams.

What I can do is put more weight on top 7 batters perhaps.

But the ratings itself are just based on stats. The playoff simulation is what really matters.

So I don't think I'll be changing anything afterall.

Given I chose my team with stats strongly in mind I am surprised I am sitting in 8th place. Nevertheless, bring on the playoffs!

Chris Gayle killed me & to make it worse he was my first pick
I picked a bunch of opening Batsmen with decent average though...
Playoff here we go..

Qualifer Match: #8 eugene vs #9 jaybro

eugene's innings is complete with a score of 3.401...that score would have put him in 5th place in the standings, so not bad.

jaybro needs a score of 3.402 or higher to knock eugene out. Can he do it.

Full scoresheet will be posted below once I finish jaybro's innings.
