HARARE - Reigning Logan Cup cricket champions Mashonaland Eagles are set to unveil former South Africa all-rounder Andrew Hall as their new head coach.
Hall will replace former England bowler Chris Silverwood, who coached Mashonaland during the 2009-10 season before returning to the UK to become Essex’s bowling coach.
The 35-year-old Hall, who played 21 Tests and 88 one-day internationals for the Proteas as a bowler who could bat, is currently captain of English county championship side Northamptonshire.
He will team up at the Harare-based franchise with his Northants teammate Elton Chigumbura, who captains both Mashonaland and the Zimbabwe national side.
Hugo Ribatika, the Eagles chief executive, said Hall will be unveiled before the 2010-11 season begins in September.
The Johannesburg-born Hall will be assisted by former Zimbabwe international Grant Flower, who has been posted by Zimbabwe Cricket to the province as a player- coach.
Flower is returning home to Zimbabwe to take up a national team job as the batting coach.
