Re: Squad announcement for 2010/11 from cricinfo
By my reckoning we have the following alterations, although i stress that these are cricinfo squads and as such are very liable to change, plus i am comparing only with the Logan Cup squads from last season
Eagles
Andrew Hall, Nick Compton, Peter Moor, Clement Rizhibowa, Charlie Shreck and Grant Flower (Coach) are new to the squad while Tafadzwa Mufumbisi, Sam Mwakayeni, Alois Tichana, Simbarashe Gupo and Chris Silverwood are missing
Tuskers
Andy Blignaut, Neil Carter, Titus Chipare, Dumisani Mankunzini, Njabulo Ncube, Bradley Staddon and Adam Wheater are new to the squad while Dion Ebrahim, Matthew Williams, Mark Vermeulen, Tafadzwa Ngulube, Taurai Madhiri, Mbekezeli Mabuza, Gerald Aliseni and Khawulani Ntuli are missing
Mountaineers
Steve Chihamhiwa, Gary Chirimuta, Gareth Cross, Tapiwa Mufudza, Cunningham Ncube, Tony Palladino, Tinashe Panyangara and Greg Smith are new to the squad while Stuart Matsikenyeri, Tatenda Taibu, Njabulo Ncube, Paxton Chatora and Steven Nyamuzinga are missing
Rocks
Michael Chinoya, Ryan Erine, Innocent Kaia, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Sam Mwakayeni, Tatenda Taibu and Bruce Tembo are new to the squad while Sean Ervine, Darlington Matambanadzo, Tendai Machiri, Thomas Odoyo, Keith Kondo, Patiant Charumbira and Keith Kulinga are missing
Rhinos
Gary Ballance, Paul Franks and Ian Nicolson are new to the squad while Mluleki Nkala, Brighton Mugochi, Justin Lewis, Luther Mutyambizi, Dylon Higgins, Simon Mugava, Michael Chinoya, Duncan Robertson and Richard Muzhange are missing
I've no doubt that we'll see many changes to these squads over the next few weeks, Rhinos for example are not going to be settling for such a small squad, you couldn't guarantee being able to put eleven in the field with so few to pick from, and then there is the usual situation at this time of year, how many of the players have contracts in England for example ? certainly the English overseas players will not be available for the opening Logan round tomorrow unless franchise salaries are very very high .......
Hopefully another great season is about to get underway, more players will surely come into the frame, bring it on .....
