If they start offering scholarships they will have 90% of our kids knocking on their door. This is a serious long term threat to us and South Africa and the West Indies. We need to watch this carefully. A 3 year residency path for the US is a huge carrot.

I’ve always wondered why something like this hasn’t happened yet.
You could quite easily manufacture a test side from Canada or the USA
Cricinfo profile of the 'James Bond' of cricket:

I look forward to the USA's domination of world cricket.

Ok, so read the article and rethought my original post. Sounds like the US are identifying players that they want to represent them and actively going out to sign them. One would assume then that it would mean that player giving up on representing their country again as they would need to do the the 3 year residency period too.
Could definitely see Zim players taking up this opportunity.
I can't wait for the World Series between the Texas Braves and the Seattle Seahorses.
If they did assemble a team that won some T20's and the Americans realised they could compete I reckon cricket could really take off. I just don't get baseball, I'd rather have a car accident than sit through a game of swinging and missing.
I wonder what the ICC funding for the States is? Anyone know?
It cant be much, they could probably currently afford Anderson and not much else.
Dangle a Green Card and you could empty Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and India.
