Nick Welch? Does he always play LC or is this his first time playing in ZIM domestics since he debuted several seasons back? Any chance of him turning up for ZIM national team in the near future?

Looks like at least 1 white guy per squad and about 7-8 white guys in total (Taylor, Williams, Ervine, Burl, Moor, Evans, Welch). Not too shabby.
I think I’m somewhat well poised to answer this question.

This is how it is;
Nick would happily play for Zim.
But he was burnt massively missing out on the 19 WC after being the 1st/2nd best bat. And the only player with FC experience.
Caused him to leave and seek it elsewhere.
He’s copped hell from English kids but has made it and obtained citizenship. This was very very hard to do.

So now we are in a situation where he has an outside hot of playing for England and being a millionaire.
If he goes well, he’s in their crosshairs and will take that.

If he plays bad then yeah Zim all the way.

But then you have this flip of power.
If he is shit, will Zim want him unless he is on his knees?
If he is good, wouldn’t the British setup pull the stops to keep him?

So basically there’s a small middle ground there where we everyone is happy. He’s a competent game changer that isn’t wanted or pursued by the UK.

Basically the BT/Ervine level.

I’ll reiterate,
ZC missed a MASSIVE trick by not looking after him when he was a teen that only ever wanted to live in and play for Zim. Massive.

The advantage is he has a fairly Zimbabwe patriotic family despite the shit with the kids.
What do you mean he copped hell from English kids. Did he finish school in the UK or Zim?

Having a patriotic Zim family still in Zim will mean if his county turns out average, he will look back to Zim potentially.

ZC should launch an official youtube challenge for live stream of domestic cricket.
I think they have, and they uploaded debut cap ceremony of players and some interviews.
ZC should take it seriously as they could earn some amount based on views & subscription on providing live stream of domestic cricket.

Drainage at OH is poor, Im just hoping there wasn't a problem with the covers, there's a chance they'll get on the park.
Why would they not give Evans the new ball ahead of Akram?
The pitch at HSC seems surprisingly good. I thought it would be a snake pit with all the rain.
Its so humid with a bit of light peeping through which could mean that it will cook up some thunderstorms this afternoon with so much moisture around.
Well we know who's earmarked to be the next national captain. Myers himself is actually a damned good captain, he really thinks out of the box, but he needs to be making runs and be established before they could contemplate that, Madhevere ticks that box.

Honestly. How has no one mentioned this to ZC. If they have a decent YT channel and get views, they can get revenue. This is a language they should understand.

Kasuza showing why he is the inform top pick for test opener. Pity we don't get many tests.
