who should be playing for zim?

Post by andybligz »

lately a few players have returned and the system is looking a lot better but who are some playeers that have yet to return . i can think of a few that would be quality players in our starting team: J.Cameron,S.Ervine,A.Ireland,M.Goodwin,G.Ballance(hasnt commited yet),T.Friend,B.Rogers,C. de-grandhomme,T.Gripper. im sure there are more , please let me know of some more players who could still be contributing to our first class cricket or even national colours. out of the players above i only recon a few could stll play for zim they would have to be , cameron, ireland, goodwin, ervine, ballance and de grandhomme. I really do hope cameron returns as he is a great all round prospect that could be more than handy in the test arena

I think Dabengwa should open both the batting and the bowling...in tests, and Matsikenyeri should replace Masakadza...

Did I just write that? Damn Meth addiction makes me do crazy things.

Gripper was a very gritty batter. He never had a great technique. Infact his technique was like Piet Rinke in a way.

Gripper never gave his wicket away which was a quality I liked in his batting.

I wonder if piet rinke will ever come back to Zim. I played against him this season against scarborough and he was bowling at a decent pace swinging it alot aswel.

Piet Rinke should be selected whenever we play associate sides. his record against them is very good, particularly opening the batting.

It is scary how bad our team was about 5 years ago - Piet Rinke opening the batting!

Piet Rinke struggled to bowl 70Mph on all the occasions i whatched him bowl on T.V. And the only time i ever saw him bat was when he opened the batting against Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy in 2006. He was bowled for a first ball duck, and he didn't move his feet atall. I'm not joking, not atall. So I reckon if Rinke was back, it'd be a backward step.
