Wtf is going on? Have South Africa released the likes of QDK, Miller & Shamsi to go to the IPL instead of playing the third ODI??

Wow South Africa truely being relegated to a 2nd tier nation here

They are in a contractual obligation with the BCCI to release players for IPL unless the franchises allow them to play and join later, at least that is what Boucher has said

Beurin Hendricks getting into the XI must be such a slap in the face to lads like Nandre Burger and Marco Jansen. He is seriously not good enough for this level. Sipamla isn't a LOI bowler either and yet he still gets a game. Ridiculous selection
How long can they persist with Beauran and Sipamla? I think they will not last for long.

They're black, they'll persist as long as they need.
It sounds awful doesn't it, but it's literally just fact. If you're a black cricketer in SA, you have it golden. I can name three genuinely fast, young, white bowlers who are better better all three of Hendricks, Sipamla and Andile. They're simply not good enough and yet they will continue to get picked because they fill the quota of black players.
Having Junior Dala in that squad and Magala is a massive slap in the face to blokes like Coetzee, Keegan Peterson, Nandre Burger etc.

All very true. Would be a bigger issue though if SA were a very poor team, but they aren't. Sure, they aren't half what they used to be, and they aren't half as good as they COULD be if selected on merit, but they're still a pretty competitive, good team even with quotas. They aren't going to win any world cups any time soon with this system, but they'll still give anyone a very good game on their day.

They are missing 6 first choice players today and are still (up to now, at the time of writing) in this game, against basically a full strength Pak side.

Malan and Verreyne showing why they need to be included in South Africa's one day side. I understand Miller and Rassie are there, but they need to somehow find space for these two boys. They are so talented.

Telling you now, Malan is going to a better player than Herschelle Gibbs. His off side play is unreal.

Now they need to get Raynard Van Tonder and Keegan Peterson in the test line up.

Sipamla, Hendricks, Bavuma, Phehlu all are quota players. I don't know why they dont play Magala, he has been in the team for last few series yet cant get a match.

Verreyne, Malan etc all their talent is useless for SA because they will be kicked out in favour of black quota players. It is said that by 2023, the target is to have only 4 white players in the team. I don't know how both of them can get in the team.

There are so many bad teams atm in cricket that all of them except Aus, Eng, Ind, NZ deserve to play qualifiers in order to get into WC. SA is at its worst atm and the direction in which its heading, i dont see them getting any better in next 10 years. Even in UK, the cricket is a sport just enjoyed by rich white people or British Asians. WI is getting better tbh, especially with the new management in WICB, SL is in dumps, Bangladesh is where it has been since ages, their current crop is not good at all. Severe lack of talent, their current team is like leagues below Kenya of 1996-2003. The only reason why they look better is because the other teams are getting worse. Pakistan is in a similar position but its still like 1000 times better than Bangladesh would beat them easily in any neutral venue.

ICC has to be the worst board in all the sports. If they were more focused on spreading the game rather than getting bullied by a third world country like India, Cricket would have been much better and I wouldn't have been embarrassed to tell the girl I'm into that cricket is my fav sport.
Even in Australia, Cricket isnt that popular really.
It has next to no female support. The ones that do are either carpetlickers or very tomboyish, and not the ones you'd try and slide into their DM's, put it that way.
You also wouldnt brag about being a good cricketer, unless you were making money, in which case thats what its about.

It isnt seen as a cool/glam sport. Not like NRL or AFL. If those guys go to a club for example, they get mobbed. Those are the sports Aussies genuinely get passionate about, plus soccer on a participation level.

You are only famous or a household name once you are an Aussie superstar. No one except enthusiasts would be able to name more than ten to twelve current players.

It does benefit from being the only summer sport played traditionally, and that its easy to sign up and play for a team.
So yes, it is a popular sport, but not as much as people think.
Wow i would have never known this about Aus. Good sharing.

It's only partly true but yeah aus isnt India. It's a multi sport country and lots of people give up sport as it is very competitive/not fun/have a career.
