PSL Draft

Post by jaybro »

A number of Zimbabwean players entered the 2021 PSL draft, unfortunately it looks as though none were selected

Interestingly Kyle Jarvis entered the draft, maybe he hasn't retired from cricket? Maybe he has just quit playing for Zimbabwe and has decided to forge a Global t20 career?

You would assume there would be little interest for KJ for such tournaments, the same guys get picked every where and it's hard to crack unless you're performing on the world stage

Considering how poor Zimbabwe have been in t20s it's of no surprise there is little appetite for these players in such drafts, t20 cricket has a whole other set of skills that these guys just haven't ;earnt due to the lack of domestic t20 ever since it began in the early 2000s

Retirement was only speculation around here wasn't it?

After the performance against Pakistan recently, not really surprising no one was considered.

Zimfan1 is usually on the money, he seems to have very good connections/ sources within the playing group

Maybe Googly or John Ward have heard something?

KJ really should continue on for a 3-4 more years.

Jarvis a T20s global star?

HHahahah

I love the guy and still think he’s our best bowler, but the shorter the format the worse he is! He probably wouldn’t make the sun team in T20s on merit.

He needs to get back in zim as a test and ODI player

I'm not even sure Jarvis is one of Zimbabwe's better T20 bowlers. More of a long-format guy.

To be clear I’m not suggesting he should try to become a full time t20 player, I’m just throwing up scenarios of what might actually be going on
