I mean just look at the last few games, not many 50's and almost no 100's, apart from Taylor in the tri-series. Why are our batsmen good enough to make 20-30 but never carry on with it?

They get a rush of blood in their nerves and loose their wicket . The guys dont keep it cool . Grant Flower has a big job to rectify this before the world cup and Test return

I agree with Flower Power.
Grant Flower needs to step in and get some serious work done with our boys

I wonder if some input from a sports psychologist would be useful.

williams and sibanda definately need sports psychologists because they're mentally weak.
vermeulen needs a psychiatrist because hes crazy.

yes as for the topic it really astounds me how often they will get to 20 and not kick on past the thirties...this buckles the trend of most batsmen who either get out cheaply before ten runs (rusty or havent got their eye in yet) or who kick on for a big score because they are PAST the stage of <10 runs.

its really odd how they get in there then throw it away.

it seeems only the ervinator keeps his composure....

even he is really strange himself as he cant get a score in the weak attacks of the domestic league but put him against an international attack he shines.

Ervine's success in the international game shows how little of an indicator domestic cricket can be for some players. Sometimes I feel we are too quick to judge players based on what they have done domestically instead of what they have done internationally. It doesn't bother me if Ervine gets 5 ducks in a row domestically, he should be in the national side as long as he is performing in ODIs.
