If Wellington is our best spin option, well we already knew we have serious problems, but this is now laughable. Clearly ZC has not spend any time in actually looking to develop players. To be honest, I just look at that squad and feel flat. Is Mutumbami also the best wk option we have?
You just made me realize that Regis might be in the squad as a batsman and not the main keeper..Richmond honestly isn’t that bad but he isn’t world class either. If they play with 8 batsmen then Richmond might come in as the keeper with Regis and Prince opening. There are multiple options

Outside some self motivated school coaches and self interested (word not used in a negative sense) private coaches, there has been no initiative or inclination to develop players. There hasn't been one in a long time.
Remember, Wes was developed in South Africa.
Like googly used to say, it doesnt fit in with their underlying motivation of securing cash or leveraging off ICC privileges.
Junior development is what happens when you have passion to develop the game. Their motivation is
1. get cash
2. Do whatever is needed to dsecure that gravy train going forward.

There is an ICC checkbox with tiers to how many funds are granted. ZC are ticking those boxes just. Organising tours, having a domestic comp.
however the big clue is in how they do the BARE Minimum. This was how I come to realise Googly was right.
They tick bioxes but do nothing above and beyond.
They cancel fixtures and dont reschedule.
Fixtures correspond to rainy season.
'not answering irelands call to reschedule' is a recent one.
Not being proactive in chasing the diaspora players. Taibu did, in his tenure. He was sacked though.
Yet, from what we know of leaks internally from pissed off employees, the president, Givemore Makoni (Takemore) gets 20k a month + hires a 'head of cricket' below him to basically outsource basic work.
The cricket community is 500 strong.
That would have to put him among the highest of the highest income earners in Zim. Yet players dont get paid.
Nigga please!

Zim really should be trying to send a message to the cricket world of their rightful place in the top ten test nations.
They can only do this I feel with BT and Craig as the attack is shit, so batting is the only way.

What are these other carriers like? I doubt I’d want to fly air Ethiopia or Kenya?

I’m a very nervous flyer though
They are obviously not as good as Emirates or Qatar (but even BA or QANTAS can't hold candles to them). But Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways are from what I can tell the best African carriers up there with South African and perhaps Egypt Air.
I could be wrong but didn't Ethiopia Air line have a plane fall out of the sky last year?
I have flown Ethiopia several times and found they were NOT good time-keepers.

Are there any better keepers? Murray isn't available is he?

I was thinking in terms of their batting. Probably one of them needs to be in the team for keeping duties.

Private feedback I have heard is they just flog the kid making him bowl a ridiculous amount in the nets a day.
The belief from onlookers is this may or may not work, but is sending him on a path of constant injury and is a strategy best applied to batsmen.
