Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe
Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, 10 March 2011
Not really expecting Zim to win this one, whether our batsmen turn up or not - Sri Lanka on their home turf is going to be beyond our reach. If we're to reach the quarter-finals now, we need to hope that we get the same Pakistan side that turned up against Canada. Which means we can get away with playing with the lineup a little in this one.
Changes I'd make: Sibanda in at 2 - he's just off 58 against Tuskers in the Logan Cup and has had a decent domestic season, while I think it's save to say the Coventry opening experiment has failed); Coventry down the order a bit and Chakabva out. Mpofu back in place of Panyangara if fit.

I liked the look of Panyangara.
He looked a little bit rusty, bit seriously, he's got a better action than both Mpofu and Mazakadza jnr put together, and I think with time he'll be able to develop that pace, even though he clicked up to 86 Mph

Not really Mpofu's biggest fan but he has bowled somewhat decently of late..i would stick with him. The biggest change that we need is to drop Chigumbura. He brings nothing to the team. Masakadza was dropped for much less...

hi ///anusha from sri lanka
zim now in sri lanka nice to see how they play agens our lians

sL never play 50 overs match in pallekale ground if SL win the toss i know they will bat second if zim win toss they will bat frist

like NZ match
sri lankan cricketers is very interligen,,they are think about pitch condition
but zim not think about pitch condition
look at last match won the toss and bat..early morning very frindly for seam bowlers
finaly all out 167 then second half pitch very frindly for batmans look at seacrat :

nz bat very easy however zim never learn that every time they try bat first ,

What I think i that Zimbabwean batsman are on Industrial action . Coz the way they are playing is not consistent, you know batting was actually our better department and we would always say if only our bowlers could defend or restrict opposition we would be in a winning position . Another theory that I that is that our batsmen now have information overload . Imagine for example Charles Coventry who plays at Tuskers would get info on his batting from 1. Dave Houghton (Tuskers Coach ) 2 Grant Flower (Zim batting coach 3 Brain Lara ( Batting consultant ) 4 Allan Butcher ( Head Coach ) 5 Steve Mangongo ( Asistant coach ) .

Too many cooks spoil the food but i am sure they all will bring you a nice, delicious cake.
Happy birthday Coventry.

He's done a very tidy job, in his opening spells, we should stick with him. We lost the NZ game in the first 2 overs that Panyangara bowled

Panyangara didn't bowl badly, New Zealand (imparticular Martin Guptill) Batted extremely well

Our batting lost the game before we bowled. all the time we play test teams, Utseya + Cremer end up batting more than the batsman.
We need a solid batsman, at the top Coventry has failed, has to be Duffin or Vusi, Netherlands + Ireland are getting scores of 250+.
