Looking at some of the names the Aussies have a powerful side with the likes of Khawaja's, little known Beer who made the ashes squad, Smith, Peter George, big hitting Dave Warner to name a few. Hopefull the tour comes to pass this will really be good exposure to our cricketers. I wonder if we will put our full strength national team and whether we go out with a strategy to win or it will be another 'Learning Curve.'

The four day matches against Australia given In mind we should be preparing for test matches should be a mixture of youth and test side so I would pick
1 Duffin
2 taylor
3 masacadza
4 Sibanda
5 Ervine
6 Taibu
7 Chigumbura
8 Mushangwe
9 masacadza
10 price
11 Chatara
Chigumbura has to Bowl in these matches to give support to the two seamers

Leave out Taylor, leave out Masakadza, Price and Taibu and play everyone else including Vusi, Ervine and Williams. Hand the gloves to Chakabva and bat him at maybe five or six.

We should just select a full strength team. Even our best players still need as much exposure as they can get.

True. It is a strong Aussie side as well, will be excellent experience/practice for whoever plays.

Wait a while before our selectors come and clown around with their experiments .

Agreed. There's no point resting the guys with Test match experience... they've been rested for 6 years.

The thing is wouldn’t you want to get as many of your less established players gain more experience against the A teams of the stronger nations? Give the batsmen – the Vusis, Ervines, Williams, Mawoyos and Mutizwas at least one full series each to prove themselves and gain a foothold into the national team. Now what chance is there for them if Mssrs Taylor and Hammy are breathing down their necks.
In earnest what’s really there to gain for Taylor, Price or Taibu who as a wicketkeeper possibly does more work that anybody else. Which group of players stand to gain more? Wouldn’t you want to prove that Vusi can step it up a level, see if Mutizwa actually has the technique, prove that Williams can handle the rigours of four day cricket, or prove that Chatara is not just a domestic freak.
Actually with the bowlers I don’t mind so much, but for goodness sake keep Taylor, Price and Taibu out of it!

Agree, the likes of Tayor, Price and Taibu are certain of a place in the side. We need to see out of Ewing, Duffin and Mawyo who will partner Taylor at the top of the order. We need to see who is going to slot into the middle order alongside Ervine.
We also need to see out of Utseya and Cremer who will partner Price as its unlikely that we will play three spinners in Zimbabwe And we need to see who is going to partner Mpofu with the new ball, i.e Chitara, Masakadza or Nicolson
Experiment but do it cleverly and target the spots who are up for grabs,

I wouldn't have Shingrai Mazakadza anywhere near the test team....atleast for another year or two.
I think Ian Nicholson has done very well since the series in South Africa. He's gone back to Zimbabwe, he's taken wickets regularly, and according to his facebook page, is bowling with some heat.
I'm not saying he deserves to play in the first test match back, but I do think he deserves to be considered.
Throw possibly Tendai Chitara and Kyle Jarvis into the mix (who still hasn't played...

) and there's a some pace.
Mpofu has to play! He's the senior guy, he's the guy who's played test cricket before, and he's the guy who will have to lead the attack....
