ZIMBABWE Cricket have named the Under-19 players who will take part at the International Cricket Council tournament in Dubai next month.

The 14 players who will take part at the tournament include Matthew Bentley of St George's College, Ryan Burl (Peter House), Kelvin Kasuza (Mutare Boys High), Luke Masire (Prince Edward), Liberty Nherera (Mutare Boys High), Peacemore Zinwa (Prince Edward), Shena Handirisi (Churchill), Hleronymo Kavundura (Prince Edward), James Bruce (St George's College), Atish Chouhan (Petra), Campbell Light (St George's College), Tobias Muzingwa (Allan Wilson), Kyle Bowie (Christian Brothers College) and Malcom Lake (St Johns College).

Tobias Muzingwa will see his first appearance in the tournament while the rest of the players have taken part in a number of international tournaments before.

The tournament, which has attracted players from South Africa, Australia and the third country still to be confirmed, is pencilled for April 16-25.

ZC development manager, Nick Singo, said the tournament is going to be interesting as the players will also get a chance to attend some coaching clinics.

"The tournament is going to be interesting, the players will not just enjoy playing but they will also benefit from the coaching clinic at the Cricket Academy.

"The tournament is very important for the players as it is part of our preparations for the 2012 Under-19 World Cup," said Singo.

The Under-19 players got a chance to battle it out in the Inter-provincials trials over the weekend where 45 players from across the country got the chance to showcase their talents.

"We had 45 players who took part in the trials where we got the chance to watch them and come up with 14 players for the Dubai tour.

"We are confident that the selected team will win since most of them have been playing very well," said Singo.

ZC have organised different coaches to conduct training to ensure the players are ready for the tournament.
