Yes Odendaal can be an asset ..left arm skitty action .. i wanted him in Test squad ..he is better than Brad Evans ..
Odendaal
Exactly. Solid FC player, not international standard. At the very best, perhaps a half decent T20 option.
Besides, he's only been in Zimbabwe due to COVID

This team doesnt have the bowling to take 20 wickets and batting to play each sessions in an innings against the top 1 to 8 ranked side. However, this team can compete in shorter format if the youngstars are groomed and made accustomed to match situations, this team is far behind from what is required to sustain in test cricket.

I see this team doing well in shorter format near future if ZC gives more interest to T20 & ODIS.
Zimbabwe: 115 Test matches, 13 wins.
Bangladesh: 124 Test matches, 14 wins.

India: First 115 Test matches, 14 wins.
the comparison is not well analyzed. Zim won most of the matches till 2003.of those against a bangladesh very new and weak side.
India and bangladesh has always been improving. Number of kids playing game standards has always been going up with interest in public is getting higher and higher. Zim peaked till 2000, standards are in continuous decline since With Zim population size is not comparable still cricket has never been the no. 1 sport in Zim.
There was possibility that Zim can remain competetive in cricket with limited pool of players very much similar to Newzland. But things have been damaged by politics and racist policies in cricket. Zim is getting very heavy amount from icc considering money value in Zim and size of cricket there. Still they r not making any good use of that.

No he isn't
Surely not international product of top 12 cricketing nations.
But he was looking like far superior than local talent at display in Zim.

I mean to say he is not of international standards. But still he was looking better than most of the Zim domestic cricketers. He did so well in logan cup matches n one t 20 he got chance to play.
When you don't have pace and swing what u can do bowling at good length.let the batters do play nice shoot. He seems hardworking n bowler with thinking behind his deliveries.

I don't get what you're saying

Bro, when India got test status, all were strong teams AUS, NZ, WI, ENG, RSA. There were only 5 teams played test cricket, and all were superior, India did'nt get opportunity to face weak teams or any team of their standard in tests as they didn't existed then, even Bangladesh & Pakistan were part of India then, whereas now the situation is differant Zimbabwe has the opportunity to beat teams which are quiet similar to them, they had Bangladesh & Sri Lanka in early 90s and now there is Afghans, Irish, even Bangladesh, Windies & Sri Lanka can be beatable, but Zim failed to establish as team.2003 & Mugabe's black empowerment policy proved to be attack of atomb bomb on Zimbabwe Cricket, which showed so much promise back in 90s. India played 15 years of cricket when they were under British rule, how could cricket have an impact then in a country which had no freedom

No respect from Pakistani journalists towards Zim by the looks of it. Strip them off test status and what not is being said. They know well that this was not the full strength team and still peddling such nonsense. What will they achieve if Zim loses test status anyway? Also, who toured there when no one was willing to, multiple times? Could be for the extra cash the first time around, but the next tour paved way for other teams to take notice and travel themselves - like WI and SL. I mean why should Pakistani journalists / fans worry about the credibility of Zim's test status at all?
