Glamis Stadium - Harare's next Test Ground!

Post by bayhaus »

I went to the showground to get some specs for a show stand and went to the Arena and the though hit me that a Test Groundf in the HEART of the Sunshine city! I think we could have a good case here and it would guarantee more fans there! Glamis for Test! It is currently being used for Live shows and the annual show.

Looks like a nice ground. It would be a shame to see Harare Sports Club miss out on cricket though - there is a lot of history there.

I was very impressed actually when I saw it!

Well maybe HSC for Tests and some ODIs and then Glamis for a couple of T20s and first class, it will be good for exposure.

Say aren't there floodlight there? Could be useful if they were strong enough for the boys to get a feel for day night conditions.

Hi Bayhaus , I am working at the Vic Falls at the present time. I spoke to the architect that has designed the stadium a couple of months ago and he said construction was going to start this year, I think with Chinese help. But not much news about it from Harare.

So what sort of aesthetic is he going for?

Well if its chinese.......
probably alot of Dragons in the design and a few 'hello kitty' pictures here and there.....maybe a Macau theme.

Now that the important stuff is out of the way ^, I can definately see this ground as being Test ready with a few altercations here and there......good eye.

That poses the question though,
IF this is going to be a test ground and given its in Harare....when would they play?

Dont underestimate the character of the HSC, its a nice ground, good to look at, in a very central area. The real estate is priceless.
