A new Zimbabwe Cricket board has been elected following a special general meeting held in Harare on Friday. The elections were held in accordance with the ZC constitution.
The following were elected to the board by way of ballot: Peter Chingoka, LV Bhila, E Chagadama, E Kandi, F Kapuya, M Kuchocha, WT Manase, A Maposa, B Matemayi, S Matshaka, CG Maunze, J Mbanda and M Mudukuti.
The new board then unanimously re-elected Peter Chingoka as chairman of the board and Wilson T Manase as deputy chairman. Chingoka has been president of Zimbabwe Cricket since 1992, shortly after Zimbabwe got Test status. He became a target of a player strike in 2005, when certain cricketers refused to play till he quit the position.

In other news Kim Jong-Il was unanimously re-elected as Dear Leader.

Who are these board members? I don't think I recognise the names? Presumably they are Chingoka cronies?

ZC board is elected by members of the 10(?) provincial boards. If you go back a bit, the 10 provinces were created in the middle of the dark days when Chingoka and Bvute were clearing out any opposition, so yes, they would appear to be Chingoka loyalists. Some articles from the time:
ZC restructures provinces
Provincial committees
Thing is, the franchise setup has more-or-less displaced the provinces - it's the franchises that organise development programmes and whatnot - so I can't help but wonder what it is that the ten provinces actually
do these days. Apart from elect the ZC board, apparently.
Also: this was a
special general meeting - I would have thought that election of the board etc would be a known event that would be handled at the AGM in a routine matter. I wonder if anything's going on behind the scenes that's prompted this now.

The only real change that happened was that the former Deputy chair Mukuhlani lost his Deputy chair post to Wilson Manase.

I guess the role of the 10 provinces is to provide overstaffed, overpaid cronies for Chingoka and Bvute.

Each franchise administers 2 of the 10 provinces.
