2 squads selected

Post by davyk35 »

Congrats BT,wishing you all the best for your first series but hope some of the muppets the selectors have picked can pull a rabbit out the hat.As for the squad picked for the 2 day game, good luck hahahahahahaha.I always thought Jarvis would be in there as Campbell thinks the sun shines out his butt!!!! I do hope we do well even if it is with a second strength side,C`mon Zim!!

Zimbabwe XI limited-overs squad Brendan Taylor (capt), Regis Chakabva, Tendai Chatara, Elton Chigumbura, Craig Ervine, Hamilton Masakadza, Keegan Meth, Christopher Mpofu, Forster Mutizwa, Raymond Price, Vusimuzi Sibanda, Tatenda Taibu, Prosper Utseya, Brian Vitori, Malcolm Waller.

Zimbabwe XI two-day warm-up squad Vusimuzi Sibanda (capt), Regis Chakabva, Chamunorwa Chibhabha, Elton Chigumbura, Kyle Jarvis, Gregory Lamb, Shingirai Masakadza, Tinotenda Mawoyo, Natsai Mushangwe, Forster Mutizwa, Njabulo Ncube, Tinashe Panyangara, Malcolm Waller
So from these two squads, this is the current fist team as it stands:

1. Brendan Taylor (cpt)
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. …..
4. …..
5. Craig Ervine
6. Tatenda Taibu
7. …..
8. Prosper Utseya
9. Ray Price
10. Christopher Mpofu
11. Tendai Chatara/ Brian Vitori

Presumably Cremer is in as first choice somewhere in there; and Vitori might just be the dark horse to lead the attack come first Test.

So apparently we need two very good middle order batsmen (do I hear someone say Sean Ervine?), we need Sean Williams ( and Vusi) to get his head and body sorted and we need an all rounder.

We are spoilt for choice in the spinning department and the fast bowling department will…well, will always be a problem for at least two years.

Otherwise we are set

Maybe not leading the attack. Mpofu should in my opinion

And so he should. He's a better prospect than all of them
