The two strongest teams in the country are Churchill and St Georges. I think St George's should beat Churchill when they play this term but that all depends on how many over school age players Churchill uses. St Georges currently have about 6 players in the under 19 squad and I think Mathew Bentley from St Georges will be the captain of under 19.

Any idea how the kids Eddie Byrom and Keith Jaure are progressing? Have heard a lot about their natural abilities and acheivements in U-13, U-14 levels.

As a Georges boy myself....

1. St George’s vs Cornwall (SA)
Cornwall 102-8 (in 20 overs). (J Bruce 2-8; R Wallbridge 2-21; M Bentley 2-25)
St George’s 107-2 (in 10 0vers). (J Bruce 33*; M bentley 20*; M Torr 20)
Result – won by 8 wickets (Points 4 + 1 bonus point)
2. St George’s vs Lomagundi
St George’s 289-7 (in 20 overs). (M Torr 104; M Scruby 60; C Light 58)
Lomagundi 17 all out (in 8 overs). (J Bruce 6-10; K Higgins 3-7)
Result – won by 272 runs (Points 4 + 1 bonus point)
3. St George’s vs Peterhouse
Peterhouse 85 all out (in 19 overs). (J Myers 4-25; M Bentley 2-17)
St George’s 88-2 (in 9 overs). (M Torr 39; M Bentely 27*)

M Torr looks like he may be a useful allrounder

what cock said about churchill having a number of over age players is so true. i am on churchill grounds at the moment and i can confirm that a few 20+ players are playing. the sad part is that, a few other talented youngsters are missing out and they just fall away. i actually have a friend of mine who has never been given a chance to bat in the nets despite the fact that he's been attending every training session since last year! he's a clean striker of the ball and i believe if he's given more time he can develop his game and be a part of the Zim team in the future. On the other hand there are other exciting players who are not 20+, george banda, luke jongwe are definitely names you're going to hear in the future.s game and be a part of the Zim team in the future. george's college are miles better than churchill if you remove the 20+ players and a couple of ghost players. By ghost players i mean non-churchill students who are picked from out of nowhere to represent a school whose uniform they have never worn. i'd put:
Vusi, Mawoyo, H.Masakadza, Taylor, Ervine, Williams, Mutumbami, S.Masakadza, Meth, Price, Jarvis

so why dont the schools call for an enquiry. This is really embarrasing. So we are still where we we were a decade agoin regards to school boy so that is the true sign that maybe we are not progresssing. goerges looks tight!
