Taylor's whereabouts

Post by ZIMFAN »

I know there has been some speculation about brendan playing grade cricket.

This seems to corroborate the story and coming from the Victorian Cricket Union it appears to be official.

Hopefully, it will make him a better player when he comes back to Zim. Sadly, I fear it could be the last we see of him in Zim colours.

There were a few rumours about this last week, looks official now. It will be interesting to see what happens now, he is certainly good enough to play for Victoria if that's the direction he wants to go in.

it is the top league in Melbourne, so its one below state cricket. It's a high standard of cricket

Brendan Taylor played for Lashings World 11 cricket club in England in the 2008 season too.He has got a player profile in his club website. Here is the link:

http://www.lashings.co.uk/players/view/ ... ylor-(ZIM)

Brendan Taylor had a fantastic tournament there. He is the 2nd leading run scorer of Lashings World 11 scoring 1072 runs in 33 matches at 39.70 with 7X50,1X100 and a best score of 167.Taylor holds the highest individual innings for his club 167 which he scored against Sparrow Schools in 15/06/2008.He is the 2nd highest dix hitter hitting 38 sixes. He is in the partnership record too in the 1st wicket 174 with Indias Dinesh Mongia and 2nd wicket 121 with South African Herchelle Gibbs.Even Taylor can bowl off spin too!He is the 6th leading wicket taker taking 13 wickets at 14.92,best 4/28 which is the 5th best bowling figure. He has 22 dismissals which is the 2nd after Pakistans Rashid Latif who has 32 dismissals.

Here is the link of the statistics of his club:

I hope that we will be able to watch Brendan Taylor plays for Zimbabwe again.22 years old Taylor is such a young promising batsman and also known to be a world class wicket-keeper.

Zimbabwean former fast bowler who wore the black armband in the World Cup 2003 Henry Olonga is also in the lashings world 11 squad too.He didnt enjoy a good tournament with the ball.It is known that he will never play for Zimbabwe again as he performs jobs like commentry, singing, music compose etc and his age(32) doesnt support him too being a fast bowler.Anyway, here is the link of his player profile in the club website which has got updated information abt him:
