Marillier to play in NZ

Post by earlgrey »

Iv heard that that marillier has been working with 2 nz internationals in Holland and they are both trying to get him to play there for the summer.I know he didnt have the best season last year but i think it would be a loss to zimbabwe cricket as he does have something to offer and can play a higher level. Thoughts??

im assuming this is Steve?

well he'd have to weigh up what he wants from his career.

Lets be honest, hes not good enough to play for NZ.....but he could be good enough to play for Zimbabwe and even become a pillar of the team.

he could do a jarvis and play some provincial, but im not sure he'd make that.... if jhe was to cement a provincial spot he'd get stable pay, if meagre. In a nice part of the world...NZ is nice.

the reflipside is he is at home, to the world he knows, with his family.... staying loyal, havev a sure gig in the logan cup and play test cricket.

I couldnt begrudge him if he was handed say a 2 year contract for central districts... but i dont think that would be the case.

If if was Steve i'd stay put...

PS. F*ck off Grandhomme trying to rip zimbabwe up.

Yes Its Steve Im talking about,I couldnt agree with you more.I think he could definitely play for Zimbabwe but as you say in NZ he might get a couple of gigs a year for a state side but would be playing mostly top club cricket. The other thing is how do they pick a side when there is loads of players playing outside the country,do you think they even get a looked people like marillier, razza, benade etc...
