williams conversion rates

Post by jimbo »

I would like to explore in detail why williams means so much to the team and Zimbabwe cricket in general. Williams has played only 24 matches for zim and has scored 7 half centuries. That means that his ratio for matches played means that he has scored a half century around 30% of the time in all his matches. A very good ratio by zimbabwe standards.
In comparison lets look at someone like matsikenyeri, It is true he has improved sligtly from early on in his carrear but matsikenyeri has played 74 matches and scored only 8 half centuries, A poor conversion rate if you think he has played 50 more matches than williams and only has one more half century to show for it. Matsikenyeri also averages a shade over 20 while williams is more closer to 30.
Perhaps if people like matsikenyeri and dabengwa have another bad series it might be time to jettison them for good, Bring in people like prince masvaure or Nglube. Experience of international matches counts for litle if you are not contributing to the team.

We will see
