At the beginning of the year, the votes were dominated by Sean Williams who played some fantastic innings. But due to injuries and otherwise, he failed to poll any votes in the last 4 series. With 15.44% of the total vote, Williams was tied for second place. With him was Tatenda Taibu, who scored at least 11% of the votes in every series but the Standard Bank Pro20.

It is with great pleasure that we can now reveal the zimcricketforums.com Player of the Year for 2008. Our most consistent and outstanding performer for the year, he also provides much needed experience to a young Zimbabwean outfit. Raymond Price is always one of the favourite players of mine.Congratulation to Raymond Price!He's really the heart of Zimbabwean team.He has proved in the victory against Bangladesh today.Really a deserving one.When he joined the Zimbabwean team again in December 2007,he added an extra dimention to the team's prospective.He really possesses a great deal of experience and always seems to encouriging the players to do better and better.

I think,every team will want a player like Raymond Price in the team.I heard that,Zimbabwe will return to the test arena August this year against Bangladesh.And Price has been a world class test player of Zimbabwe.So,more to come from him indeed....

I could very easily find the reason why he is our player of the year, just in the Cricinfo gallery of today's marvelous win over Bangladesh. These are the two pics of Ray Price related to today's match. The first one clearly shows that he is the guiding force of the team, mentoring the youngsters, and the second one is the proof of the personal enjoyment he brings into the game, his determination, and desire to perform relentlessly, without giving an inch to the opposition.

As I have said before also in the forums, Raymond William Price the Legend. Period.

I am so glad Ray Price won. I wonder if there is any way he could be informed of the decision. I know we are only a fan forum but I am sure he would appreciate the honour none-the-less.

i think we should have a trophy that we can present to him

His enthusiasm is infectious and wheneva my morale is low after seeing Zim's poor performance, motivation to cheer my favourite team comes easily by just looking at this seasoned fighter.
His early life is a personal motivation for me as i'am physically challenged.
How he overcome his own disability is a great lesson for everybody to learn.

i think it was obvious that ray price deserves to be the player of the year , he has been very consistent with his bolg, most econamical bollar in recent times, gets a breakthrough or 2 in his 10 over spell, what else u need ,
even prosper utseya is also very consistent, in my views he should be the runner up, followed by sean willams and brendon tAylor.....
