The last two questions lead me to another question. The gentleman seen in the following pics in his younger days could be regarded as the missing link between Richie Kaschula and Dale Benkenstein. Clue: He's can be see in both pictures of Kaschula bowling which I posted previously. Who is he - and what's his connection with Dale?

Close, but not quite that easy ;)

Mart Benkenstein played with both Richie Kaschula and the gentleman in question, with whom he shared a special relationship.

Des Evans, a man who played Tennis, Hockey, Cricket (as a wicket keeper) and Golf during Rhodesian days?

He is currently the Tennis Director at the Indianapolis Racquet Club. And Dale is his nephew?

Absolutely correct! Mart Benkenstein married Des' sister, so Dale's his nephew.

I nicked the pics off his website where he's posted a few more from his playing days, keeping to Mike Procter et al. http://desevanstennis.com/des-cricket/

228. Can you identify this former first class cricketer who also contributed to Zim Cricket for a long time after his playing days were over? (Mode of contribution being evident from the image)

A stab in the dark: Is it Noel Peck, former groundsman at QSC?

I have no idea how he looks, but he ticks all the boxes, having played FC cricket. :)

Absolutely correct! Noel Peck it is. Great guess. The man who used to prepare the BAC, Queens and Emakhandeni pitches for years. He was the one who prepared the Queens pitch for its first ever test match, against Sri Lanka.

Thanks Crimson :)

Another interesting info about Des Evans in an article about Taibu's early days:
Soon after this Tatenda attended a coaching clinic run by former national wicket-keeper Des Evans, and learned the basic skills of the job to add to his natural ability.
It is also stated somewhere that Des did television commentary on Zim's international matches (as well as commentating on the Davis Cup) before emigrating to the US. I wonder if someone fellow forumite remembers those commentary stints?
