Indeed, our new star!Actually,I think Vermeulen totally lost his temper there.I hope Mark will not repeat that again.

For a moment, reading the subject line, I thought this is a video of Foster Mutizwa! The real "new star" :)

Well, that video was more on the disturbing side than being funny. There must have been a serious provocation that resulted in that. Also, he had already received the head blows by the time this happened.

I was never a big fan of Vermeulen in his playing days, knowing his umpteen disciplinary issues, but let us hope for the better of Zimbabwean cricket, he comes back and comes back with a new lease of life.

Mark Vermeulen did break discipline several times when he played for Zimbabwe in the past. But by reading many articles about Vermeulen,I think he is a very good person.

Couple of years ago,a cricinfo reporter named Liam Brickhill wrote how Vermeulen is in his private life:

"Having met and spoken to Vermeulen about his cricket several times in the past myself, it is quite comprehensible that the stall in his career should affect him to such a degree. He simply lives for cricket.

In his private life Vermeulen is, in my experience, at all times friendly, approachable and supremely laid-back. He always had time for people, and had no affectations about talking to anyone, white or black, especially if the subject was cricket. He was fun-loving and did not take himself too seriously: I once saw him dancing, in full, skin-tight cycling gear, on the roof of a Harare nightclub. Off the field, one could even say he seemed humble and (whisper it) peace-loving".
