At last! Let's hope for a strong start. I'd probably go with; Kaia, Gumbie, Ervine, Williams, Raza, Burl, Madande, Wellington, Ngarava, Muzarabani, Chatara for this first one

I think everyone can agree that lineup + Wes is the XII. It's stripping it down to 11 which is difficult

The start was strong last time and vs the same opponent as well. ZIM posted 380 vs Nepal. It was the back end of the tourney that was weak despite the fact that ZIM came away undefeated from all 3 games against Ireland/Afg/Scotland last time. I was sure ZIM would lose one or two of those games.

It’s gonna be a hell of a ride.

Yes very important to get off to a good start against Nepal and set the tone for the tournament!

I’d definitely be playing Innocent Kaia, but I’m still torn whether to go with Wes or Gumbie.

They may even stick madhevere in at number 7. Something like...

Gumbie
Kaia
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Burl
Madhevere

I doubt they’ll drop Madande, his runs at No.7 have been vital lately.

Can’t drop Madande.

I really think the key is going to be batting of course but also the performance of the seamers.

Picking the best XI is kinda tough. But thats the case for any team. The real sign of stability is if a team can go through an ICC tournament and only use 12-13 players.

Its all going to come down to the Super 6 really. And that most likely means the games vs Windies, NED in the group stage and then vs SL-IRE-SCO in the next round. Thats 5 games, meaning you're likely going to have win at least 3 to have a shot at qualificaton. 4 wins and you're almost guaranteed to go through, if not guaranteed. Win just 2, and you're finished.

Anyone have a link?

We are finally here. Zim really needs a good start. Im very much leaning on Ervine opening with Gumbie and Wes coming in at three. Ervine has done well at the top for us. And the longer he is at the crease the greater the chance of us posting good totals.
