Very true Taps, Ballance was one of those guys who had tons of experience and had the ability to weather the storm, like the one created by Chris Sole early on.

It is very clear that after Sole was out of the attack, batting looked easy. Even when Sole came back for a 2 over burst, Madhevere and Burl played him with ease, in fact he went for a lot of runs.

Kriterion had made a point to me that what makes me think Ballance could have been the difference. It's not about juat that one game, in the end Zimbabwe lost out on NRR, Gary could have also enaured a lesser margin of defeat against SL, he could have helped Zim post a better score and also in the game against Oman and may be against WI, we could have got more runs... It's all hypothetical but I've got to believe that Ballance provided me a far better chance of doing well as compared to Kaia or Jongwe who played in his place. Remember, Jongwe only played as a specialist batter which is shocking in itself.

That defeat against the Scots was mainly due to the mental inability of Zimbabwe to deal with pressure. As I said earlier, I was stunned after Raza played that shot to get out because Scotland were losing patience at that time, I was numb , my wife asked me what happened and I didn't say a word and kept staring at the screen in disbelief, because that was plain stupid and I thought Raza would do anything but won't play such a stupid shot for the second time in that game.

We like it or not, that result will have consequences on ZC. I hope it is as minimal as possible, but a WC spot, believe me, would have been a massive boost which could have taken ZC to new heights. All that has come crashing down.

No . So are we here again discussing the Raza's shot ? That shot is going to be a nightmare to lot of us. But that's what a lot of t20-t10s does to you. You lose the ability to score by playing on the ground. As soon as the ball is flighted you want to tonk down the ground no matter the situation

It was exactly what I was trying to say during the qualifiers but a few jumped on me for being negative.

We cant just rely on the same three guys every time, especially after being softened by pop gun attacks.

They were exhausted, and had to shape up against some sharper bowling. Scotland by that point would have done their homework.

He’s in the U.K.
