Given that the postponement of the Zimbabwe tour to Sri Lanka comes so soon after the postponement of the incoming tour by New Zealand in July to June next year, there are fears that Zimbabwe may be starved of international action. However, ZC spokesman Lovemore Banda said there is no need for the concern as they have a replacement fixture.

“During the period we were supposed to hosts the Black Caps, we will now have a triangular series involving India and one other side which we will announce once we have finalised discussions,” he revealed. “After that tri-nation tournament, it will be August and time to host Bangladesh and then tour Sri Lanka or, depending on how the time-frames will be like then, tour Sri Lanka and then return to host the Tigers,” Banda pointed out.
Banda's wording seems to rule out Bangladesh for the 3rd slot. I'd bet on an Associate side, personally, as ZC will want to make sure they reach the final, but we'll see.

Good to see that Zimbabwe is going to play a tri series involving India.

I think, the tri series will be played in July as there is Twenty 20 world cup scheduled in June.I also think the 3rd team can be an associate side.

Again,Zimbabwe can play against South Africa or West Indies. Both teams are free in July,August,September and October.

Almost certainly going to be Kenya now.

And presumably a 4-day match, Indians vs Zimbabwe Select.

It will give the best chance to Zimbabwe to qualify for the finals and play against India if Kenya plays as the 3rd team.

The 4 day match will also be very significent. If Zimbabwe can put some decent performance here against a very strong Indian side,it will definitely open the doors for Zimbabwe to return in the longer version of cricket means in the test format soon.
