If Campbell thinks Welch at 1 shouldn't be ahead of him at 7 he'd be confused, which he isn't.
His like for like is Bennett, Burl, Masakadza, Ndlovu, Mavuta, Raza etc etc. Middle order spinning all rounders.

What has Naqvi's average got to do with national selection?
Unless you know something we don't?
All I was trying to say is that Naqvi has kind of shown he is better than the rest. Even if they have the money the inefficiencies in the system will still make him wait for ages.

Something tells me Jonathan Campbell is going to start asking questions too. Let's say there is this supposed quota. If it's there and Bennett is being picked before him as well Welch he will start asking is it fair. Can't blame him. Yes people have doubts about him but in the end all somebody has to do is perform where they can. If he has a decent first class season he deserves a chance. He has started well.
If he tops the averages after a few games and we have a test coming up and he bowls very well then yes he could feel aggrieved if he wasn't considered.

Hes shown he's done better domestically for sure. So far.

You're the one putting quota on the table, but claimed it wasn't so.

Naqvi is the greatest player in history ever to grace the game. It’s unfair using him as a benchmark. That’s like comparing every test batter to Bradman and saying the rest are poor.

FC debut 50 for Welch jr. He's really looked the part.

Making a bit of a mockery of Masunda, Mupfudza and Takodza being picked ahead of him in the first place. Surely this will move him up the pecking order at the Eagles going forwards?

He couldn't have picked an easier debut, pitch is a road and they're following on in sweltering heat so the fielders are a bit tired, but nonetheless a really good innings.

First poor shot on 73. Been very good viewing.
