Re: Fill the gaps for the 1st Test against Bangladesh
He was the only batsman to pass 35 in the series.ZIMDOGGY wrote:but does mawoyo deserbe auto selection?
Also, the Sibanda/Mawoyo partnership has real potential I think. The selectors need to show faith in both of them.

Re: Fill the gaps for the 1st Test against Bangladesh
I'd go:
1. Tino Mawoyo
2. Vusi Sibanda
3. Hamilton Masakadza
4. Brendan Taylor (c)
5. Craig Ervine
6. Sean Williams
7. Richmond Mutumbami (wk)
8. Ray Price
9. Chris Mpofu
10. Kyle Jarvis
11. Tendai Chatara
Hopefully we don't embarrass ourselves in this series as well.
Is Mangongo looking after the side for the whole series, or just a part of it?
1. Tino Mawoyo

4. Brendan Taylor (c)
5. Craig Ervine
6. Sean Williams
7. Richmond Mutumbami (wk)
8. Ray Price
9. Chris Mpofu

Same question applies to Sibanda.ZIMDOGGY wrote:but does mawoyo deserbe auto selection?
I would be tempted to include 'Confident' Mushangwe in the eleven

Re: Fill the gaps for the 1st Test against Bangladesh
Mawoyo does well against pace -- I only hope Bangladesh do not become wise to his travails against spin and throw the new ball to one of their spinners. That said, tino is the only batsman to take anything from this tour.
A genuin question here: do we need a specialist spinner at HSC against Bangladesh? Our best chance is pace, and last time around Price did not bowl all that much. Would not three seamers, Chigumbura, Hami and some part-time pies from Waller/Williams/Maruma suffice?
The idea of Price batting at 8 does not appeal to me at all. And we cannot afford to play more than one genuin no. 11
1 Mawoyo
2 Sibanda
3 Masakadza
4 Taylor
5/6 -- 2 of Ervine/Williams/Waller/Maruma (or even, dare I wisper it, Matsi, for heaven's sake)
7 Mutumbami (wk)
8 Chigumbura
9 Shingi
10 Jarvis
11 Rainsford/Chatara/Mpofu
How does that look?
All presuming someone of the middle order candidates decides to put up a hand in the warm-up.

Re: Fill the gaps for the 1st Test against Bangladesh
I'd definitely go for Mutumbami. He has shown a high level of resilience. Something which has been pretty absent in the WI. We need someone with abit of mongrel.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).
