Mgini dube will be in squad for 2nd 3 day match which will be exciting for him.

Don't know much about musoko. I know chataira can be rapid on his day.
Chataira is not rapid. No more so than anyone else in the domestic system. Maybe 130 or so.

As for the squad for the 2nd match, I would not bet even $1 on it being as you state. A week is a long time in Zim cricket and I think it will be very different.
It's not as I state. It was from the Zimbabwe cricket site
I know, but my point stands

Larry will be in the squad for the second match

Roy and Tiripano have for once earned this with solid Logan Cup performances.

Chivanga is the quickest on the scene, pitchvision’s speed gun can’t even register him.

Durham and Bazball   man that’s so last year, been some monster Logan Cup scores this season, no worries about that Pom invention at all.

De leede is there. I can't see carse or potts looking at squad list supplied on ZC app
That's the difference right there. I absolutely guarantee that they will look and someone will send the players some clips and they will discuss some tactics.
I'll bet my bottom dollar our guys haven't got any plans. Its Zim A- we should have a statistician who's prepared some information for the players. Our national statistician is not doing anything right now, he should be earning his keep, surely?? Does he get paid in the months between national games?

Matt Welch is opening, just turned 20 and I'll guarantee has been told nothing. Imagine what's running through his head this morning. Do they want to develop a potentially very good opener or don't they?
This meritocracy thing also has its limitations. Nick Welch has flayed the Durham bowling attack a few times, yet he's nowhere near this side because he had a disastrous red ball campaign, yet everyone knows he can play. Are they going to wait for him to top the batting averages before he gets another shot?

Where's Naqvi? They've let him play in a Zim side before, and they will know if he's committing or not. If he is then he should play. We know he's a good player and we want to see him against better opposition if he's throwing in his lot here.
Theyve made it clear you don't have to be Zimbabwean to play for Zim. If they wait for him to become eligible facing mediocre attacks he's going to be shit by the time he gets selected.

Curran has the game to hold his own. He should be be under consideration. He's played County before and has had his moments.

One of these 3 guys, never mind Kamunhukamwe or Maunze should be playing ahead of Roy Kaia. They all have a higher ceiling than Roy. I don't see Roy making the national side, so is he the permanent A team captain forever? That just doesn't make sense. How often do we get to play a good team like this? Give the right guys the opportunities. Ervine has had a minor shoulder op, but where's Williams?

Why is Chari not playing? He's cited personal reasons, but something doesn't sound quite right. He's topped the averages and surely wants to get back in the red ball side?

The Don is going to have to do something spectacular to be considered for national duty again. He's there because of his experience with bat and ball and he's a good player, but I'd rather see that u19 leftie in there. Or Evans?
It's only a 3 day game and he's readying himself for the T20's which is in 2 weeks time anyway, so why can't he bowl 12 overs in a day? His extended holiday should be over by now. Hes about to play in back to back to back T20's in our one week T20 season so you cant tell me hes not ready for a 3 day game. There's nobody other than Raza who can claim to be a T20 specialist yet none of our quick bowlers seem to want to play red ball. It's nonsense.

If they suddenly decide to use a different ball for these Durham games our batters are at a huge disadvantage as well. Let's hope for some friendly umpires that don't trigger us.

In the past we avoided selecting national players for A sides because we didn't want a team full of national players in an A side or Presidents xi to lose to a non international team.
That bird has flown. We play so few games that everyone needs game time against good teams.
It's a bit different now because we do need to look at other players because there suddenly are a few guys knocking on the door and a couple of retirements are imminent.
But they should know the 3 or 4 guys that have the potential and then put some national guys in there as well.

Looking forward to these games. It could be the making of some players.

When Gumbie hit 140 odd against Glamorgan last year it gives players confidence that they belong and also a ticket into national side.

Won the toss and we are batting.

Durham: Michael Jones, Scot Borthwick, Ben MicKinney, Colin Ackermann, John Bushnell, Graham Clark, Haydon Mustard, Ben Raine, Callum Parkinson, Oli Gobson and Stan McAdlndon.

Looks like an 11 vs 11 match which is good.

Curran and Chari should have been given a go. I wonder what happened with Chari for him to miss these games. Must be serious. Curran is like Gumbie for me. He doesn’t set things on fire but let’s see if he can get some scores against a quality team. He might surprise.

You know our bowling stocks are bad when you see Musoko in the squad. :(
