Theyve got a couple of days to prepare our guys. The Durham A side will smash our national side.
I'm pretty sure a few of their guys will be missing.

And Carse is Zimbabwe eligible too himself isn’t he?Googly wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:54 amImagine they brought their A team!!
Mark Woods, Matthew Potts, Ben Stokes and Brydon Carse as their seam attack. Bas De Leede.
Woods and Carse are downright fast!!!
Parkinson, Ackerman
McKinney, Bedingham, Borthwick, Jones, Robinson, Raine.
This is a world class team.

No, he's played a couple of games for England quite recently I think, so it would be 3 years from when he last played for them.
There's a scary wake up call coming for us.

I see they're in the T20's coming up. Eeish
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
What's the deal with Masuku- saw he just picked up another fifer, is there a reason he hasn't been considered for national selection?

Similar to Mufudza. Domestic stalwart, always top wicket taker but never gets a look in internationally.
His problem is he is extremely medium pace. Not convinced he would do well in international cricket but he’s done enough over the years to at least be given a chance imo

Think lots of them are either currently with England, with franchises, etc. Dutch are playing at the moment, not sure if De Leede is with them too.Googly wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:54 amImagine they brought their A team!!

They had Potts, Raine and De Leede last year. Absolutely insane quality. No wonder they won division 2. Would be a decent tip to win Div 1 this year I reckon too!!
Great coach , Ryan Campbell, had the pleasure of having a few beers with him in Hong Kong about 10 years ago,

He's also a comparatively mediocre white ball performer, and 95% of Zim's international matches are white ball.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 9:53 amSimilar to Mufudza. Domestic stalwart, always top wicket taker but never gets a look in internationally.

Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
These tours from Counties are to be always welcome.
I would like to see more of them doing their warm-up, during the month of March, in Zimbabwe. Hopefully to play a few first class matches rather than T20s.
The presence of overseas players would be conducive to attract local kids to the game.
In a foreseeable future it would be fantastic to have a pair of counties play, in last week of March, their opening match of county championship in Zimbabwe.
In US major leagues it's not uncommon to have an opening match of regular season abroad. Why not in County Championship? Especially for northern Counties where at the beginning of April the cliamte is almost prohibitive for cricket.
