Should former Zimbos consider coaching stints for Bangla?

Post by CrimsonAvenger »

There are coaching positions available with the Bangladesh national team. With guys like Grant Flower considering coaching roles even in dangerous territories of Pakistan, if an offer come their way, should former Zimbabwean cricketers with coaching credentials consider roles with Bangladesh? This would be a great strategy for the BD board to hire a Zimbo to guide them towards their immediate goal of toppling Zim from the 9th position in the test rankings. Financial benefits might lure the Zimbos towards the offer.

If a Heath Streak or a Psyche Nkala get an offer, what do you think they should do?

If offered the job they should take it ....

Im surprised Heath Streak hasn't picked up a job as a bowling coach for a national side maybe he doesn't want to leave Zimbabwe especially after starting his academy .....

Rumors doing rounds that BCB might have approached Streak for the Bowling Coach job. Top job seems to be in favor of former Sri Lankan batsman Chandika Haturasingha.

Haturusingha is snapped up by Bangladesh. This is a great signing potentially. Probably Sri Lanka's loss. Kumar Sangakkara rates his coaching skills and insights into the game very highly. Could be bad news for us if he starts transforming the Bangla unit to a more disciplined and hungry outfit.

A local newspaper reporting today that hiring Heath Streak as a Bowling coach is alomost finalized. Second option goes to Chaminda Vaas. Either way, first time in history, Bangladesh is porbably paying attention to the fast bowling coaching department.

Knowing that Vaas has settled in nicely in his Sri Lankan role, Streak must be the front runner...

GB would be the right guy for them. I really rate him, would be a good f*% you to ZC for dumping JB as well. Time to vote with your feet. What I want to see is how they get HSC in passably good condition for these internationals. It's a mess that now can't be fixed in time. More to making a world class ground than occasionally mowing the lawn it seems.

I had no idea it would come to fruition when I put this thread up in the first place. This is a disaster from our point of view. These are some of the most brilliant moves in the history of Bangla Cricket. Let us for a moment even keep the credentials of Streak aside and look at this. The Bangladeshi pace battery is abysmal when it comes to proper guidance. Any guidance is of great help. Also, they are hiring a man who has worked in the dressing rooms of their biggest rivals in the current scenario. So, this is a major major signing. They will now know where to bowl to Taylor and how to tackle Chatara. Not at all ideal.

We should respond by signing Gary Brent right away as our bowling coach and our chief strategist. Wait, I should stop daydreaming.
