Malcolm Waller situation

Post by CrimsonAvenger »

Zimbabwe missed the all-round abilities of Malcolm Waller, whose absence from the ODI side was mainly to have him back for the World Cup. He was reported for a suspect action after the second Test and was sent back home before the ODIs.
"Obviously he had to go and get tested so you can't do anything about it," Chigumbura said. "It is the ICC's rules. If the umpires suspect something you can't do anything about it. Hopefully he will be back in the team sooner or later.
"We are trying to first check him because the later he goes, the chances of him going to the World Cup will be slimmer so we had to gamble that and make sure that he gets tested. The sooner [he returns] the better for ZC to decide. We would love to have him in the side."
What kind of junk is being dished out here? You can play the guy for 21 days after being reported. Why did he not feature in the 3rd test then? If the focus is on getting him cleared quickly ahead of the world cup, why is he back in Zimbabwe bowling in the Pro50? Why is Chigs making it look like he would have been a vital cog in the XI if not for the reporting of the bowling?
