[Match Thread] West Indies v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Re: [Match Thread] West Indies v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Big game Windies are beatable and Darren Bravo is out which helps us, if we can bowl tight at the start Gayle and Smith will get themselves out but it's the final 15 overs when Simmons, Sammy & Russell come for a slog. The key to stopping this is to take early wickets and bring Sammy and Russell in early where they're not custom to playing longer innings .....
I've been thinking long and hard about the lineup and I would go like this
Chibhabha
Raza
Hami
BRMT
Williams
Ervine
Chigs
Mire
Mupairwa
Panyangara
Chatara
I think the way Chigs is bowling we need Mupariwa to bowl first change and possibly at the death, Williams and Raza can do the spin bowling ......

My Squad in batting order lineup
Chibhabha
Raza
Hammy
Mire
Taylor
Williams
Ervine
Chigumbura
Chatara
Panyangara
Mupariwa
I would really like to see us play with some variation and creativity in our bowling. Assert some pressure in the field and not give away too many easy runs, particularly singles. I think we are showing a bit too much respect to sides and we have the ability to actually beat these teams.

I'd select Mupariwa if Mire can't play. I'm not sure if Utseya's good enough....Chamu Chibhabha made a half-century against South Africa with an injured knee and missed Zimbabwe's next game, against UAE. He has failed a couple of fitness tests since then, but the team management will only take a call on him on the morning of the match, and choose between Stuart Matsikenyeri and Regis Chakabva in case he can't play. Solomon Mire also has a small niggle, and could make way for Prosper Utseya if ruled out.

Who will join this list tomorrow? Heard of uncomfirmed news of niggle to both Mire, Chigs.

This is going to be hard. I was watching how well Taylor was bowling and then how threatening Holder was at the other end. This will be a big big test for us. Bowling wise I'm not holding my breathe, but it'll be a massive blow if Mire is not in

Call me a mad man but if Mire is to miss out due to injury then I don't really mind Prosper coming in, I really want to see him bowl.
