This appears to be the Day Two stumps score:
FREE STATE 208 all out (1st innings) Tienie Fick 84
M Erelank 41
Ed Rainsford 16.2-7-39-4
Graeme Cremer 28-6-71-4

ZIMBABWE PROVINCES 203 all out
S Nyamuzinga 44
G Cremer 42
Romano Terblanche 11-2-40-3
Brent Kops 21.3-7-38-2

FREE STATE 101 all out (2nd Innings)
T Fick 30
Lefa Mosena 25
E Rainsford 14-8-21-6
A Manyumwa 8.2-2-13-3

ZIMBABWE PROVINCES 20/3 (2nd Innings)
Zimbabwe Provinces trail by 86 runs
Should be able to win from there, I would have thought... Excellent figures for Rainsford, especially in the 2nd innings...

Good bowling again from the man i have been championing on this site. He's certainly blown the free state batting away. Hopefully it wont be fruitless as long as zim provinces get to this small target

At 3/20 I'm a bit concerned. Hopefully Chakabva can steady the ship and we can knock off these runs.

Great bowling from Rainsford.

Result:
Free State 208 (Fick 84, Rainsford 4/39) & 101 (Fick 30, Rainsford 6/21)
Zimbabwe Provinces 203 (Nyamuzinga 44, Cremer 42, Terblanche 3/40) & 107/3 (Cremer 31*, Nyamuzinga 21*, Kops 2/34)
Zimbabwe Provinces won by 5 wickets.

No word yet on the 1-day match.

Cremer is turning into quite the batsman. IMO, he is an automatic selection for the Test team, not only for his spin bowling (which I think is as good as Price's and better than Utseya's judging by all reports) but for his batting.

Imagine, Chigumbura at 6 and Cremer at 7 or vice versa. Such a strong lower order! In all likelihood Brent, Utseya and Price will bat at 8, 9 and 10. Wow.

Damn! Not a great start. Thank God we had Chakabva and Cremer to steady the ship (and it was such a low target). Ryan Butterworth didn't really get a shot in the ZP team, just the one match. I'd like to see him have another chance, maybe he could replace Kasteni for the next match.

I like the look of this:

Code: Select all

      	       Pl W L T D NR Pts
1 Zim Provs 5 2 2 0 1 0 56.02
2 Griq'land Wst 4 2 0 0 2 0 52.68
3 Gauteng 4 2 1 0 1 0 46.72
4 Easterns 4 1 0 0 3 0 39.78
5 Northerns 4 1 1 0 2 0 37.76
6 North West 4 0 0 0 4 0 33.14
7 Free State 5 0 2 0 3 0 33.12
8 Namibia 4 0 2 0 2 0 26.76
Suddenly this week's game against Griqualand West takes on added significance. Bear in mind that there are no semi-finals for the 3-day series - just a final between the top sides from each group.

It would seem only Griq West and Gauteng are our competition. We must win both of our remaining games - if we do I think we will finish the top of the ladder on points.
Pool B - Griqualand West v Zimbabwe Provinces
Pool B - Griqualand West v Easterns
Pool B - Gauteng v Namibia
Pool B - North West v Zimbabwe Provinces
Pool B - Northerns v Griqualand West
Pool B - Easterns v Gauteng
