BANGLADESH VS ZIMBABWE SECOND ONE DAY STAR PERFORMERS

Post by bullseye28 »

In a one day match one team has to win and the other has to lose in the normal circumstances unless it is a case of tied scenario or match abandoned due to unacceptable playing conditions. But the individual performances of players irrespective of which team they represent stands out .

In the above context irrespective of which team you support the performances of Saqib, Tamim from Bangladesh and Coventry and Williams from Zimbabwe had charmed and impressed all and sundry who watched the match and deserve to be applauded and acknowledged.

Let’s take a closer look of these Star performers

BANGLADESH

SAQIB

Saqib despite carrying a groin injury played a Masterpiece that I am sure the spectators and fans will remember for a long long time. 104 runs in 64 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes at an incredible SR of 162.50 says it all.

He is presently the most Intelligent, Sharp Thinking and Innovative player amongst the present bunch of Bangladesh Cricketers. His ability to quickly adjust according to the needs of the situation is second to none.

We all know Bangladesh at half mark ie. 25 overs were 108 for one.

He started slowly. But once he crossed 15 runs massacred all the bowlers to all parts of the ground. What followed next was an endless rain of fours and sixes. An incredible innings that took the game way from Zimbabwe. Rest is History.

TAMIM

W saw a different version of Tamim in a cool, calm and calculated innings . Along with Jumaid he built a solid partnership of 71 . The authority and ease with which he played the innings was a treat to watch. Five sweetly timed boundaries and a majestic six charmed all and sundry.

Tamim’s back to back fifties is a sigh of great relief to Bangladesh team management as the opening position is an area which has been bothering them for quite a while.

Tamim’s return to form and consistent performance augurs well for Bangladesh.

ZIMBABWE

COVENTRY

Coventry played a gem of an innings. Even when Zimbabwe were two down for 33 he was undeterred by the situation . Most batsmen would have opted for a gradual attack . But he decided to go for an all out counter attack and was able to dominate Bangladesh Bowlers to a great extent.

But as it happens he succumbed while trying to enhance the Scoring Rate. Undoubtedly a Brave Innings Indeed!

The momentum he generated with his attacking display of batting had rubbed on some of the later batsmen like Wiliiams, Matsikenyeri , Chigumbura.

WILLIAMS

Williams played a glorious innings of 75 in 71 balls at an astonishing run rate of 105.63.

It reflected the fact that Zimbabwean have a Never say die approach - Fight to the last drop of energy .Unfortunately he got out while trying to accelerate the scoring Rate.

I am sure he will continue to play similar attacking innings in the coming One Dayers . Who knows if more batsmen of Zimbabwe follows his path we might see an upset result in the next One dayer.

So Guys . let’s all give Saqib, Tamim, Coventry and Williams a Big Hand for enthralling us with a wonderful display of attacking cricket.
