Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has announced Sri Lanka will visit Zimbabwe later this year for an eagerly anticipated white-ball series to be held in Harare. The tour itinerary features two One-Day Internationals scheduled for 29 and 31 August, followed by three Twenty20 Internationals on 3, 6 and 7 September. All five matches will be played at Harare Sports Club. “We are delighted to confirm Sri Lanka’s visit to Zimbabwe for what we expect to be a thrilling and competitive series,” ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni said. “Matches between our two nations have always produced entertaining cricket and this tour comes at a crucial time for our team as we prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifying campaign.” The T20I leg of the series holds particular importance for Zimbabwe, serving as vital preparation ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, which the country will host from 19 September to 4 October. This regional tournament will determine the last two African qualifiers for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

SRI LANKA IN ZIMBABWE MATCH SCHEDULE:

MATCH DAY DATE START VENUE
1st ODI Friday 29 August 2025 0930 Harare Sports Club
2nd ODI Sunday 31 August 2025 0930 Harare Sports Club
1st T20I Wednesday 3 September 2025 1330 Harare Sports Club
2nd T20I Saturday 6 September 2025 1330 Harare Sports Club
3rd T20I Sunday 7 September 2025 1330 Harare Sports Club
Great opportunity for Zimbabwe to fine tune the T20 team ahead of the qualifiers.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

So much cricket.

The NPL 20/20 is going to be big. Since its the only practice the players are going to get before these series.

Why do we play all tests in Bulawayo and all limited-overs stuff in Harare?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Why are you so obsessed with Naqvi? I have told you before forget about him. He is not good enough and is not eligible to represent Zimbabwe.

Lol Jonty, you say things with the confidence of ChatGPT. Well if you say if he is no good then why would anyone argue? Clearly you are trying to assume the role of a "Cassandra".

This same guy has been backing those inconsistent international players on X
Its obvious that ZC domestic standards are not upto mark. But we cannot ignore he's expectional performances and there's obviously no guarantee that he'll have succesful international career. But he has proven to be quite good in the Zim A as well. So he's worthy of getting a chance represent Zimbabwe, according to Mutenderas and Razas selection criteria. Well only if he's eligible though.

Looks like BT, Wes and Campbell are in the squad along with Evans and Masuku.
