The over 40's world cup has just finished, with Aus taking the title. It got me thinking how astonishing it is that we have players currently playing international cricket that could or can nearly participate in these tournaments.
Below was the Zim squad for anyone wondering.
Arthur Harley
Austin Corken
Berti Erasmus
Hilton Becker
Javaid Akhtar
Kyle Lee
Marc Nicolle
Mark ferrao
Ray Buchanan
Richard Linnell
Rory Mcwade
Ryan Butterworth
Saad Khan
Simon Bell
Simon Lee
Simons Seager

Crazy that Ryan Butterworth never got a full international cap for Zim. I reckon he could have been a handy option at number 8 and his dibbly dobbly medium pace wasn't too shabby.

Alan butcher actually said he was almost unelectable in Bangladesh in 2010. He watched him bat in the nets and after an over very quickly realised he wasn't good enough. I'm sure I've read somewhere as well that even Butterworth himself said not to be selected
