Elton closes in on leaders with superb display against Bangladesh

Zimbabwe's Elton Chigumbura returned to the top ten of the Sky Sports International Sixes League a fortnight ago and continued his charge up the table with another fine display against Bangladesh, firing his country to victory in the third ODI at Bulawayo.

Chigumbura smashed a 33 ball 61 not out, including five sixes, as he steered Zimbabwe to a 69 run victory over the tourists.

That victory saved the series for the hosts, reducing Bangladesh's lead to 2-1 with two to play. However, despite Chigumbura clearing the rope again in the fourth ODI, the big-hitter was caught on 15 and his side eventually suffered a four wicket defeat.

Bangladesh's win secured the series and they completed their successful tour of Zimbabwe with victory in the fifth ODI to seal a comprehensive 4-1 series win.

Elsewhere the Sky Sports International Sixes League remained as it was but with England's Twenty20 and ODI fixtures with Australia just around the corner, expect some new names to be challenging for a place in the top ten.

Brad Haddin would have hoped to gain revenge for the Ashes defeat with some big shots against the English, but he has been ruled out of the entire Twenty20 and ODI schedule in England due to a finger injury.
