Cricket Kenya t20 League

Post by andruid »

So I am in a WhatsApp group where certain stakeholders in the game come online to vent, argue, the usual WhatsApp nonsense. In the course of a row about some t20 league, that the incumbent Cricket Kenya chairperson promised but has yet to deliver someone drops a presentation to Cricket Kenya from a shady outfit called 'Arena of Sports' supposedly operationg out of Dubai/India, detailing grand plans about how they are going to bring an epic t20 tournament to Kenya this October.

The reason I am even posting about this here is that within all the grand promises and buzzwords of the sale pitch is the promise to deliver a core of famous Zimbabwe cricket team players as 'icon' players for the league. That is Tendai Chatara, Wellington Masakadza, Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, Sikander Raza, Brad Evans (first name spelt Bradlet), and Regis Chakavba.

Raza is listed separately as one of the global superstars who this organisation is certain will drop whatever they are doing to show for a new t20 league in Nairobi, in October. Tatenda Taibu is listed as a prospective coach for one of the potential franchises.

What are people in global cricket smoking these days?
