I've just watched the bowling of this young left armer! Wow!
Krit you know I love a good pace bowler, you remember how excited I was when I first saw Taskin bowl. Love this kids bowling. Looks strong, fit and hungry, all of which is completed in a 30 year olds body!

Bangladesh now have the makings of a really exciting bowling attack. In Taskin, Mush, mortaza, rubel and the young leg spinner and left arm spinner they actually have a world class battery. And their batting, as we all know, has serious potential. This sarkar kid is someone up watch! Wow what an eye. Reminds me of a young tamim Iqbal I'm the 2007 CWC against India with all his flair. You have mominul, nasir hassain and others who I just can't be bothered naming :) and the keeper Das adds depth and allows Rahim to focus on his batting.

Always will be a zimbo, and will always support the boys, but fuck me this Bangladesh side is exciting to watch when they beat ICC giant like India and South Africa.

Long may is continue and develop :) take note Zimbabwe, this is how to develop a young side

Sloan, where have you been? I've been eagerly waiting your post for the better part of a year now. Hope you are well and dandy!

I think you and I have the same level of fascination with all things pace, lol. We must be brothers from different mothers! I agree with all you've said. Absolutely love your enthusiasm for our team, maybe you can adopt BD as your 2nd team behind ZIM? :D

Unfortunately, I have stopped supporting ZIM, although I follow them almost as closely as I do Bangladesh. I've reverted back to my 2006-2011 cynicism of all things related to ZIM cricket once Jarvis and Taylor left. Taylor's departure was the straw that broke the camel's back for me as I never thought he'd leave.

 I'm well mate, and yea well if i'm being honest there's something about a guy who nobody knows, running in and literally cartwheeling a batsman's off peg, as is the case with this lad. Love his action and I love the fact that Heath Streak is doing such a good job.

I mean I've always liked watching Bangladesh because they were, I emphasize the 'were', on par with the Zimbabwe side. But, to be honest, every time I see the Tigers play they seem to have a new kid on the block. In 2011 it was Nasir Hossain, then it was Taskin, then Tajiul? and now this fella. Mominul against New Zealand as well, nearly forgot. In my opinion, the cricketing world needs three teams especially to be strong: the Windies, Pakistan and Bangladesh, as it provides teams like South Africa with a challenge, as we're seeing now, opposed to them just walking over and winning 5-0 in ODI and test match cricket.

As a wicket keeper, I like the look of Das. Has good hands and can bat as I recall he scored a half ton lately didn't he? And still only a kid himself. This is what is exciting, the age of these guys. Taskin, Musfizer? (terrible spelling but you know who I mean) Das, Mominul, Nasir, even Tamim is only 25. Serious side in the making, and if India, with a population of 1 billion and some of the best pitches in the world can't beat a mainly poor country like Bangladesh, then they need to have a serious re think and perhaps show a bit more respect when playing them which, in fairness, I think they are beginning to do as they sent a half decent side over last time they were there.

I know how you feel about the Zimbabwe side, believe me I'm in limbo, and I'm not following nor posting as much as all my favourite players are now gone. Taylor and Jarvis were my favourites, as was Ray Price. Not really arsed about Cremer or Coventry, but I' glad that Ervine and Mazakadza are still there. Zimbabwe need to take a leaf out of Bangladesh though and blood some younger lads like Mumba, Burl, Moor, Kazuza, Wellington Mazakadza, as they are literally the future.

Here is the video of Mustafizur's triple wicket maiden:

I can't stop gushing as even Mohammad Amir never did something that sensational and he's played in seamer friendly places like England and AUS.

Yes, ZIM need to blood youngsters as guys like Hammy, Panyangara, Utseya, aren't going to get any better as they're already around 30. Chigs has been doing well of late, but I suspect its just a peak among troughs. Chibhaba though is doing well. IMO, only Williams and Chatara are class players with Raza, Chibabha, Hammy, and on form Chigs being decent enough. Unfortunately, that means that ZIM can only win the odd game against higher ranked sides and will lose a fair share against the likes of Ireland and Afghanistan.

Young bloods is the only way forward.

Bangladesh went through the following failures before striking it rich:

Kapali
Ashraful (rare, but astounding successes)
Aftab
Shahadat
Enamul Jr
Shahriar Nafees
Nafees Iqbal
Talha Jubair

But the real problems are administrative. If somehow the ZC could be fixed overnight or even gradually and you got Taylor, Jarvis back with Welch, et al in line for call ups...ZIM would be a fantastic side!

I always rated sharier, had a solid technique and looked to play the ball late, which has been a rare commodity amongst the bangladeshis over the years.

Sadly we won't see Jarvis again, he's doing far too well with Lancashire and I know personally he's having a great time, both on and especially off the pitch..
Welch and Byrom are the lads we need back, couple with Burl and a few others. I fear Taylor is also lost sadly :(

Bangladesh A will be touring India in just 1 week's time. We've named a very strong squad...basically our national team sans Shakib-Tamim-Mushfiq. Mominul is leading. 3 list A matches vs India A and then a 3-dayer vs Ranji Champs Karnataka and a final 3 dayer vs India A.

Taskin has been passed fit and is expected to play a first class match for the first time in over 2 years. Sounds like he might be in contention for a place in AUS test lineup.

Bangladesh A go down by 96 runs in the first list A game. Taskin coming back from a side tear was rusty conceding 14 wides in just 5 overs. India were 77-4 at one stage but recovered to post 322-7.

India A are a decently strong side. This is basically the team that toured Zimbabwe a few weeks ago. BD are going to have to improve quickly if they want to win a game.

Just found out Taskin has re-injured himself by picking up yet another side strain (same injury kept him out of the SA series). He has been sent back home. Based on Heath Streak's assessment from last week, it looks like Taskin will not make his Test debut until next September's tour to India. Will almost certainly miss the Zim Tests in January and of course next months Australia series.

Bangladesh A has tied the series 1-1 going into the decider. Nasir with an unbeaten 100 when the team was 80-5 and then a 5fer to snag a win. Impressive anytime you can beat an India side in India.

Apparently our A team is playing without Streak, who is the head coach, as the Indian gov denied him a visa. Maybe he got it by now, but impressive to win wihtout your coach on tour.

I said it during his rookie year, that Nasir could be a second Shakib. Imagine a team with two Shakibs!

Looking forward to the three-dayers and hope to see Mominul and Nasir score some big runs ahead of the Australia series.
